I think the sliders need something...

they just look to small and...
like something was supposed to go there but never got installed...

I have 3/8" tube. But thought it looked too big.

If I do put something there it is going to get hit every 7 seconds when I roll over a rock. Not sure what I'll do just yet. Need to finish it the back end. I'll be out of town two days this week for work, so I'm battling time right now.

Thanks Michael. It's been a rushed build but sometimes that's better for me. Not time to second guess just cut and weld. :ror:
I ran out of 1/4" tube so I swapped to 5/32" rod for bracing.
I'll add the mounts for the rear bed panels and some more bracing to the cab tomorrow.
Sitting about 9lbs right now.

Yep. The CXT cab has that Dakar Rally look. For ease and time I went with the utility bed setup.

To what do I owe the pleasure of having Sir ROCKEDUPRICKY post in my lil ol' thread?

I shall show more progress!

Radioshack boxes and spare relocation. Spares can go either up by the cab or out back.

Plate the lower portion of the frame where the trans mount kicks down.
Simple rear bumper.
Big ass cattle guard front bumper.
Stacks behind the cab.

Just stuff like that. Don't get me wrong it looks super like it is.

Yea. That stuff is all in the plans. I still
Need to reinforce the cab some more, plate the subframe, do a small rear bumper, add a 1/2" plate bumper (with winch) to the front, add bottom skids on the side sliders, make a mount for rear of the cab, add some accessories and wire it all up.
Not sure if i'll get that all done by this
Friday night but Ill try. Some things might not get done but its going to be on the G6 course next Saturday morning! I have to be in Mississippi for two days of work this week too.

Up til midnight working on the beast. I am done with the main fabrication for now.
The rear sway bar installation and new suspension feel with it has me pleased. Chassis roll is tamed down. Medium bar for now.

Szczerba 09-28-2013 09:03 PM

The Tekin 13.5 motor only lasted about 200 yds at the Recon G6 today. Absolutely the wrong turn motor for this beast. It's toast!
I forgot to take pictures. Some may surface.
The rig worked great for the time it was running. Rear sway bar helps alot.

Holmes Hobbies 2000kv sensored out-runner motor will be the next motor for this rig.

A couple pictures of some of the details i added late last night.
4" Vanquish Light bar
Rear mud flaps
Homemade sand ramps in front of spares

Stay tuned for when I get the new motor!

Yes sir. Working on gearing. 11/87 right now. I will see if a 90 or 93 spur fits too.

The Holmes Hobbies Sensored Outrunner has good low end and good mid and top with this 15lbs rig on 3s.

It's geared way down to crawl right now with a 11 tooth pinion and 90t spur.
I can have the pinion swapped out in less than 10 minutes and it can rip. The rear sway bar keeps it stable. I was trying to flip it by cutting the wheels hard at full speed but she stayed up right.
I am really pleased with this Holmes Sensored outrunner.
