project lower class wraith

hey guys im kinda new on here and to rc crawling really, only got into it a few months ago.....anyways thought a would share some pics of my latest project.....story with this is a picked up a wraith roller on trade and took most of the cage and body and used it on a scx10 project I just finished up leaving me with the wraith axles, links, skid plate, trans and part of the frame/cage...........being to cheap to go buy axial parts to put it back together I just decided to try my hand at building a completely hand built wraith from what I had.............on to the pic(take it easy on me haha first attempt at an rc chassis, there are already some things I would do different on the next one but hey that how you learn)

what I started with 3 days ago(after adding aluminum c hubs,knuckles and driveshafts),only thing i knew was i wanted it to be a truggy looking thingy haha.......after a few hours cutting,heating,bending and grinding i ended up with this.........used 1/2 x 1/8 strap

http://i349.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps656a9c72.jpg

i was happy with that for a few hours work......next day a started on the tube cage and some body panels..........used 3/16 rod and 16g steel

and on day 3(yesterday)only had a little time to work on it,got some front tube work done and hood made.........gonna change a few small thing already and maybe shorten the nose up a little..........plans are hand made links, some sort of brushless system, nicer wheels and tires and some powder coat and bed liner once its done

Shorten the nose enough to climb a 90degree wall. I think your framerails curve upwards too much and the height of the roof of the cab is a little tall. If you built the rig at full stuff, it would be a little better. All you need to watch for is the top of the rear axle contacting the frame and the steering servo up front. You want it to help you climb not hinder the climb. Otherwise looks good. Glad you got rid of those flimsy bs plastic framerails.

Looks great! I see you fixed the tire too. ;-) I'm looking forward to watching this build. You're doing great work! "thumbsup"

Are you going to do a spare wheel/tire mount on the back?

I hear that.

However, you could narrow a plastic wheel and narrow a tire. That would be pretty light. That, and leave out the foam. It would look pretty sweet. ;-)

Edit: you wouldn't even have to do a good enough job for it to be useful, since it would only be for looks.
