Did the tube pinch down on your blade as you cut it? I've seen steel tube do that a lot.

Not on the first side I cut. The slight wavy-ness you see in the pictures is me rushing to feed the tube onto the cutting wheel. I took my time on the other side and it doesn't look as bad.
When I got about halfway through the second side the cut side was flexing around a bit.
I thought about tacking the already cut side back together real quick but that was too much effort and kept cutting. Black paint is my friend.

first chassis iteration

I mocked it up and thought to myself.
"Oh yea, geometry does matter on 1:10scale rigs too. Let try again"

I wanted to steal the body from your house about two years ago when you weren't looking.

Simple flatbed with a headache rack and spares. You wouldn't wanna see my styrene box making skills.

No smoke but I do have a Diesel engine sound generator. Thanks for reminding me it was in the parts bin.

See. I wasn't the only one that wanted to rob it.

Additional doggy weight is not included in the race day truck setup spec sheet. Toby stays in the pits.

3rd chassis setup. Mucho betterer.

Snuck some Mattzilla 3 hole tabs on the subframe. 3 holes of upper link adjustment.
Lower cross bar is just sitting in place for now.

Trans mount made.

Sent from my thumbs.

I chop, therefore, I am.

Ignore the lower subframe brace not welded in. Cab is just chillin on the rails too.

You won't have too long to wait. Gotta be ready to run by next Friday the 27th.

I started last week and have been taking photos along the way. I am out of pictures as of now.

I have cut and rewelded the MIP's to 6" for the driveshafts. Used 3/8", 0.04"something walled tube.

Next up is shock hoops and body mounting. Probably going to hinge the body up front with a small 5/32" rod frame.

1/4" and 3/8" tube should be at the house now for the sliders, headache rack and bed.
