It was funny, I searched "antisquat" in this section and only returned one thread, and it contained only one post that mentioned it, and it was me that posted it. I think I've found a good niche to work in.

I'm going to run it tomorrow with and without the mod and see what I like best.

Rough AS numbers are 125% stock, with instant center right below the COG, 85% as modified with instant center 4" or so ahead of the axle centerline.

It should make that front end less "light" on verticals. Of course overall rig weight plays a part in that effect too.

Corkysk8 modified his SCX frame at the rear uppers like I did and said there was an immediate performance increase

I don't understand what raising the upper links does. In the 1:1 world they should be psrralell

This is just what I needed! You to get your hands on this wraith platform and give it the geo fix it needs! Paypal ready for your front lower link mounts!

Exactly. The stock wraith uppers and lowers are not parallel.

This link will give you insight into what I'm doing, and why you shouldn't make direct crossovers from 1:1 to 1:10ish rigs.

Hard to believe its been almost 2 years...

Very rarely will you find links running parallel in the buggy/wheeling world. Drag cars and mega trucks yes, but the geometric needs are different when you build suspension to climb.

Coupling these sweet raisers with raising the upper links at the axle will make the rig plant the rear harder than it does stock.

My curiosity got the better of me and I did a quick test run here at the house.

The results?

Hmm. I thought what you did to the rear uppers effected what happened up front Like making the front end push down for more traction. If the back were pushed down the rig would want to flip out from under itself.

Yep, I mentioned to Duuuuuuuude about the wraith and the scx ones. The scx chassis link risers will need a little more work to clear the trans or you can just flip the trans like I did on my SCX-EXO hybrid rig.

Its all a compromise of instant center and center of gravity, anti squat and lift. The perfect geometry doesn't exist that will work for everyone so you have to find the combo that works for your driving style.

While it is hard to find a link setup that works for everyone it is easy to find one that sucks for everyone. Wheelie king and ax/scx Y upper strIght lowers come to mind. The wraiths dual triangulated setup is light years ahead in all areas. But there is always room for improvement and tuning to fit individual needs.

Agreed, one setup doesn't work for all. All my SCX or Wraith chassis'd rigs have link mounting modifications built in and are better than stock. The main thing with suspension setup is to have link mounting options, which neither of those have.
Duuuuuuuuude is a smart feller and will do the hobby good with his little pieces he can make to address the above stated issues. I have spent hours of welding to correct my rigs.

On my c3, there's no option to flip the trans. Too much crap up front, actually everything is in front besides rx & winch controller. Probably better to model it off of a stock rig to make it friendly but design in such a way that other guys can make fit, if that makes sense. Keep bugging him about it

No modifications necessary other than trimming the floor pan a little and possibly swapping to straight links. The top hole already feels like its taken too much AS away, but we'll see. Test drive tomorrow.
Are mine in the mail yet?

Got to run a couple of packs through, and I have to say, I am really impressed with the Wraith. For a nearly box stock kit build (tires and foams too) with no added weight it does really well at both crawling and bombing around. Very capable.

Pack one was stock geometry. It did good, better than I had expected.

Pack two was with the proto suspension mounts, plus a pair of tie-ins I made just to reinforce the skid so it wasn't being tweaked around as much. It did better. Not omfg better, but a more stable, flatfooted, subtle kind of all around better.

I've got video to edit, but the wife has the laptop until late tonight. May not be able to upload until really late or tomorrow.

Otherwise I think its going to be a winner.
