| Rolling Resistance!??
I have a wraith ps, vp chubs & knuckles, vp cv's,vp lockers, axial beveled gears.. there is a lot of resistance on the front axle when rotating it by hand. i never noticed it before today. is there I'm missing here? i have checked everything i know to check an haven't resolved the problem no handling issues, an all the bearings spin free.. frustrated! Has anyone had this issue before? if so what is the correct way to fix it? thanks |

Hard to say...too many components to guess what's off track. Disassemble the axle and work through from the start. You'll find the bind point eventually. |

Pull off each chub, knuckle one by one. Then check as you disassemble to find the resistance. Check the pinion to see if it moves in and out too.

back the c-hub screws out a turn or so and see if that helps, I just replaced my housing with a vanquish housing and the supplied screws are a hair too long and rub the axle shaft when tightened, I figure when I get the vanquish c-hubs it will be ok as I imagine the c-hubs are a bit thicker than the stock plastics..

I don't think they are much thicker than the plastic ones ....try using a shorter screw or a shim or two. A quick inspection of the axles will tell if you have this particular rub. My nickel bet is this is your problem cfc | |

Try loosening the set screws in the locker, whenever I get them really tight the free spin goes away. I don't even run the set screws anymore in the VP lockers, they work just fine without.

mock up the diff without the locker and see if the axles are touching each other...I had the same problem and I had a miss build on VP front vvd's...If that is what it is just call vanquish they will resolve the issue for you

is this why people switch to machined axle housings?? better tolerances, tighter fit an limited if not no slop?

Are you guys saying the wheels should spin freely with all the drivelines connected?
