What are those new rims, and did the topcad rims not cut it? Sent from my SHV-E330K using Tapatalk |
Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) The new rims are Mayhem Engineering Trail Shooters 1.25"wide with .450 hubs, the Top Cad's were great for the money, but I fancied some rims with a bit more quality about them ;) |
Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) Given the outside of the truck a bit of a make over http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/y...psev414bkn.jpg Got an EXO rear light pod, carbon wrapped the side panels and roof, painted the bonnet with Bed Liner, I've also just ordered a VP CMS and Panhard kit :) |
Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) Putting braided line on wires looks good. Nice build. "thumbsup" |
Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) Cheers, wired in the light pod today http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/y...psecopauce.jpg Now she has a total of 15 LEDs :) |
Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) That's a sweet looking rig. |
CC's Nothing special Wraith :) Looking nice, would like to see some more pictures of your rear bumper/cage setup. I'm worried with the way mine is cut it may not work correctly. |
Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) What part so you mean? I can take a close up pic if it's any help? |
Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) now with VP, BGR, Mayhem..... I guess just the main attachment points. I modified my cage quite a bit when I chopped the back. Your ride looks sweet. |
Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) Next time I have the panels off I will take some pics Anyway my CMS and Panhard Kit have turned up http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/y...psibzna3vu.jpg |
Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) Let me know how you like your cms/panhard. I just took mine back off as the link would hit the top of the truss before the suspension would collapse all the way. I tinkered with it for days and days and never could get it to work like I wanted. I did like the way the servo was up out of the way and protected though. |
Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) I've lost a little travel when both front shocks are compressed, only about 3-5mm tho, I can live with that because out on the trails and rocks I will never compress the suspension in that way and I don't really jump the truck either |
Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) She has been sat doing nothing for a bit while ive been busy with other projects, but a set of King 110mm shock came available locally for a decent price, so I bit the bullet http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/y...pstxce4cmd.jpg Tbh they were pretty pants stock, zero rebound ain't good for a heavy truck like mine, so after reading Heckler's thread about modding them I put in a set of stock wraith shafts and shims either side of the Pistons and added some 1k heavy oil, they seem to work really well now http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/y...psy3abqslm.jpg Off for a run Thursday to test them out :) |
Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) I also sourced another roof panel and painted with bed liner :) |

Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) Today I made the decision to go brushless, ESC choice was easy, I just pinched the ESC out out of my SCTE 2.0 lol http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/y...ps0a9gkxko.jpg And will be picking up a Pro4 3300kv next week |
Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) Thought I better deal with the torque twist ive been getting before I go brushless, so picked up a set of front sway bars, but because I've changed the front bumper to a BGR one I've lost the mount for the roll bar Soooooo set my mind to Work out a way round it, luckily I had the stock bumper still in my parts box, after a few mins with the dremel I came up with http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/y...psaez9h3h4.jpg http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/y...ps0ymusrtp.jpg |
Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) Got my Pro4 on Xmas eve, geared 13-56 http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/y...psndfyrmyg.jpg Had a quick run around my house on 2s and i couldn't believe to power and torque, cant wait to get her outside and try 3s :) |
Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) Oh and im using a RX8 G2 i borrowed out of my SCTE 2.0 http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/y...psv9kd10kr.jpg |
Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) |
Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) A nice package from CI arrived today http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/y...psqwzaaqfx.jpg Loving the stickers, sweets and mini banner they chucked in http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/y...ps90ahbox8.jpg Now to undo the 128 screws on my Mayhems so i can get the new tyres fitted :) |
Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) Fitted http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/y...pszmbti5iv.jpg Really need to get a electric screwdriver for next time I change tyres lol |
Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) now with VP, BGR, Mayhem..... Where can I get a cool driver? |
Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) Mines from a Tamiya Wild Willy |
Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) Fine looking rig. :) |
Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) Cheers chap :) |
Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) Are you not tempted to go the full BGR hog and add the sliders? They are great. I think I have almost the same setup as you but the Stinger bumper. The shocks hoops are on the list for me. :) |
Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) Call me strange, but I don't really like the look of rock sliders sticking out past the side of the body and tbh I like the look of the ones I have on her at the mo :) |
Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) That's fair enough. :) |
Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) The ones on her at the moment are from Radshape, it's pretty much the only UK part on the whole truck lol |
Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) Haha. Yeah I bought the Radshape panels but without the sliders. I like the way they curve and keep crud out of the foot wells. Shame I could not just buy the sides as the roof and hood were not really needed. |
Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) Went for a quick run today with a mate for an hour http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/y...psdryoulpb.jpg http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/y...pssoxcmgn8.jpg http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/y...pspo0lcxr4.jpg http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/y...psfw8pojrl.jpg http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/y...psqjmtnfwl.jpg |
Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) And a little vid of me messing about on 3s http://youtu.be/QmOzHLkJs80?list=UUw...xxkpQEbBQJoK7A The slipper was a bit loose and im running the limiter on the RX8 at 70% so she still has loads to give if needed |

May be they slip better on obstacles but it is certainly you loose few mm of clearance and sometimes they can make the difference. Bye Filippo |
Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) They are more for looks than anything, I've lost no clearance as the plate follows the line of the frame, so no extra chance of it getting snagged up |
Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) Beautiful KOH style rock racer CC. What length are your shocks? |
Re: CC's Nothing special Wraith :) 110mm, I'm running them pretty soft, but with the front roll bars I'm getting hardly any torque twist and loads of suspension action |
