Where is the best place to mount a battery when just driving around, bashing or trail riding?

Anywhere it's wrapped, mounted solid and protected from getting punctured/dented. The rest is up to you! Original rear and popular front are both good options

If you are interested in doing any crawling you really should move it up front. I originally built mine with the batt in the rear as I wasn't sure what I wanted out of it. Took only one outing to convince me to move it up front. It performed so much better on the rocks and still bashes just the same.

I mounted mine up front as well bashing it holds up well and aids in crawling just make sure to add velcro staps or some for to secure it to the chassis as best as possible. rc4wd fenders do a good job of keeping the rocks and othe depris from hitting the battery its self.
