Default Pinion hex screw

Anyone know the hex size in the pinion screw?, always busting the spur so I'm gonna put a bigger spur and smaller pinion

What pitch spur and pinion are you using? Brushed or brushless motor?

What about the spring between the nut and the spur, is it suppose to be fully compressed when assembled?

I might get flack for this but the spring your talking about is for the slipper clutch....i never understood why those are on scalers...racers yes....i jam mine down....sonits locked.....its supposed to be adjusted but honestly I don't know one would do it on a scaler

You may want to switch to 32p, they are stronger. Also, are you running in dusty, sandy areas without the spur cover? That would eat a spur too. If your slippetis tightened all the way and you jerk back and forth, or jump alot, that could be another reason.
