| Opening doors complete!
So I wasn't happy with the body that came with my wraith kit, so decided on the poison spyder body, but when it came I really wasn't feeling the blue. Tried goo gone, tried Dot 4, nothing really worked like I wanted. I just ended up busting out the fine grit sand paper and used about 8 hours of my day sanding and sanding the inside. Once I test fitted the body I wasn't a real fan of the solid 1 piece like I thought I would be, so it hit me! Opening doors with scale hinges! (Used aircraft hinges from LHS painted black. The doors/roof are done with spray can bed liner to give that "fabric" look of soft half doors and bikini top. I put in a longer screw backwards into the body mount on the tops of the door that the scale door handle screws onto to keep the door closed. It's amazing, I'm not as creative as most but this mod has me very satisfied. |

Are you screwing the handle on and off to close/open?

I am using the handle to screw it shut yes. Where would you use the magnets? I guess I can see what you mean but I'm digging the door handle |

I have a couple short pins that snap thru the door panel, that would be hidden by the outer door handle. It would give the effect of a clicking latch when closed and opened, my hood is done this way on my 1.9 wraith... but as I said earlier....its a cool mod!!!!! I'm also a fan of my first test run of painting, was going for a much brighter orange and just used black to back it up and darken it a hair. Though my thin layer of orange and painting the black on thick have it that burnt look and by complete accident I'm in love with the coloring. The original orange paint was the same color as the tow ropes and recovery boards | |

Thanks all! Still a ways to go with what I have planned, have barely even had a chance to get it outside seeing as how everywhere up here in Minnesota we are under 3-4ft of snow in most places!

It took me about 6-8 hours of sanding in pieces, the front grill and rear upper corners are by far the hardest. But 320 grit sand paper was perfect and knew it would do the trick!
