| Sp3cia1-K's Poison Spyder Wraith Rebuild
I am starting the rebuilding process of my new, 'second hand' wraith that I picked up earlier in the year. I got it for a steal of a price and was loaded with basically you could ever need. Vp knuckles, chubs, lockouts, lockers, ti links, cms panhard kit Motoworx 8 spoke wheels Rok lox tires Axial unis Axial dig unit Jeep body Dinkys drop box Dinkys v5 roof with eco light bar Dinkys V2 hinged bonnet Dinkys fuel cell Ccbec Holmes brxl 7950 steering servo 7955 dig servo Aluminum front mount electronics tray Vp 4''light bar Integy 35t motor Gmade 103mm piggybacks blah, blah, blah, the list goes on. The only thing I didn’t like was, in my opinion, the ugly green painted jeep body (despite loving jeeps) and the typical wraith wagon looking rear end. I knew that as soon as I did the cage mod, I would change a few things up for my liking. And my liking is Poison Spyder! ;) |

I know there are a lot of the PSC body’s around and a lot don’t like them but I love the look of them! I have already upgraded to RRP full metal transmission internals to go with the HH Torquemaster 27t running 32p 60/13 gearing. Also got rid of the stock foams for some CI dual stage foams with soft fronts and medium rears. I'll be matching it up with internal spool servo winches that I make myself, scale radiator, fuel cell and KOH rear lighting along with other appropriate accessories. Plus the all-important drivers ;) Onto the cage mods, I never really was a fan of the typical link mod as it creates such a big void in the rear of the truck that just doesn't look realistic. Solution? Heat the roof and bend it down to meet. Job done! The body looks good just sitting on the chassis with the protective film on, kinda like it without the sponsors all over it but they will make their way on there soon. Radiator, rear light bar etc just sitting on it too to get a feel for everything. Last edited by Sp3cia1-K; 02-26-2014 at 11:42 PM. |

Looks good man. It does look way better with the fast back than the standard full cage. Still waiting for my internal spool servo winch for Titan haha. The Trukkracea |

I delayed making them for a bit because I have been pretty sick, rather make them when I'm better and can actually move normally instead of having to redo them haha | |

Went out yesterday afternoon for a test run of the retuned suspension, new CI foams and general tweaks. I love the cage mod because when you do flip, it almost always rolls back on to its wheels! Always a good thing! :P

Have been running the truck the same way for a while now and decided I wanted a bit more power, so I ordered a Tekin ROC 412 3100kv and CC MMP along with a whole slue of other goodies. RPP has an absolute top service and customer care, they always make sure everything is safe! More sellers should be doing similar things. Last edited by Sp3cia1-K; 04-03-2014 at 07:23 PM. |

Grabbed some proline scale accessories at the same time, not sure what will be on this truck and what will be used for the scx10 JK. Exo rear engine and fuel cell was also picked up to make the bed area a bit more scale. I'll look at the lexan engine in a while when I get a chance, more important things first :P

Yeah the kit version of the exo came with the rear engine piece but not in the rtr. It only comes as part of the interior package so that will either be used for something else down the road or sold off

Built up the new tranny I got from the classified section on another forum. Was already fully built just installed in a new VP case. The car currently has a dig trans in it, just don't use the dig function at all really, plus wanted a bit more strength for the new power so dig trans will either be sold off or put in the jk for 2 or 4 wheel drive

Got the ROC installed and with 60/9 gearing and with that super low gearing it has all the torque in the world with about 27t speed. Only tried up to a 12t pinion as the motor mount won't allow for any bigger with the 60t spur so I'll have to pick up a 56 spur and see if I can get a better ratio. Super happy with the ROC412 and MMP already |
