Default DIG operation

So with all the research I have done I've come up empty. I know that the basic DIG operation simply locks the rear wheels. And have read that some people use it to disengage the front for a more "scale" setup. Is it possible to use the DIG to disengage the rear? That way I could have a FWD allowing it to pull itself up vs the rear wheels causing it to get too much grip in the rear and flip?

Default Re: DIG operation

digs are normally set up with,
4 wheel drive
front wheel drive - rear wheels do not lock up but spin free (free dig),
or - front wheel drive & rear wheel locked up (locked dig),

3 position dig

but you can set then up as a 2 position dig all-so

Basically a 1:1 scale dig is a transfer case installed backwards. Providing 100% front wheel drive and optional rear drive. I have seen some DIGs setup as true 4WD, rear free wheel and rear locked (not spin at all) anchoring the rear of the rig allowing the fronts to "DIG" in.
