Talking How have you lightened your Wraith?

Aside from cutting the back half off the cage, how do you lighten your wraith?

I think my pig needs a diet - would love to hear from the hackers and testers!

Making the seats into Swiss cheese took care of some high weight for me

I'm interested in this too. I actually thought the Wraith was pretty planted already, (I've done the standard free lowering and set up my suspension in droop).

I love swiss cheese, I couldn't make things out of it without eating it. Does cutting holes in the seats really take away a noticable weight?

Swap the seats to Team3Six style. You can also cut the lower bars (skid plate mount) and raise the skid to the bars above it.

The Swiss cheese isn't visually appealing without dolls in the seats. Like doublej said better option would be thin sheet similar to the 3six plans that were offered up.

The stock seats are heavy and drilling them out made a noticeable difference in weight, no numbers however.

Good idea about moving the skid up, hadn't thought of that

Another way to lighten is to look at your battery. If you are in a comp with a time limit you do not need to haul around a 5000 pack. A 2200 or 3000 may suffice based upon time limits.

Cutting the cage is not much of a weight savings, but does help it flex more in the right spots. You want all the weight just in different spots then you may have it in. If you want it to climb well.

i have heard about moving the skid plate up, but won't that lift up your COG quiet substantially?

Default How have you lightened your Wraith?

12gram seats made out off 3mm balsawood. Original wraith corbeau seats weigh 100grams.
Started figures in balsawood to

Never mind the color of the scale!

The figures i had before weighd togheter 152 gram and with seats 252g so i hope to get rid of some wheight when im done. For me its like loosing an extra lipo pack placed high up.
