I just received in the mail Vanquish Products limiting straps. Just at first glance they look amazing better than the pictures on the web site. I only wish they had made them a bit longer because now my suspension is compressed. I like to have my front end higher than the rear. If the straps were a little longer I could bolt down the lower part of the strap to the inner side of the shock mount. Never had any issues with the shock talking the load of the axle. In this case I think these straps should be more for looks than for actual performance. Just my opinion. Last edited by THX_138; 05-23-2014 at 12:22 AM. |

"Compressed" a little is good. The whole point is to prevent the shock internals from taking the load of limiting extension. The strap should go fully tight before the shock is at full extension.

For crawling purposes I've caught myself debating using a sway bar setup or limiting straps. Granted, these two perform different jobs but I'm curious which would be the better choice if you were to only use one? Sway bar links would help with stability, while keeping one side of the axle from dropping too far below / above the other compared to the vehicle. Limiting straps would keep the wheel from falling in a hole, and may act as a rudimentary sway bar in certain situations.. |

Now I know what those are for. I would try those instead of sway bars myself. Hey MM have you stopped the XD piggybacks from leaking?

No luck on the shocks from leaking. Im not going to give up on them yet. Im about to go mid evil on thier asses lol. To my knowledge VP only makes different colors. Maybe in the future they will make different sizes. Last edited by THX_138; 05-23-2014 at 12:23 AM. |

They make two different sizes. One for SCX10 and one for Wraith. I purchased the SCX10 set that runs 2 3/4" I think but I run 4 inch shocks so I can't use them. The Wraith version are 3 1/4 inches I believe and would have worked much better for this application. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk |

DowntownScience what I did was mount one side of the strap to the chassis and the other end to the lower shock mount. I feel it looks better and my suspension is more free now. This is where the straps are now. Last edited by THX_138; 05-23-2014 at 12:21 AM. |

When suspension and steering components are no longer the limiting factor when flexing, it becomes the shock, hence the need for limiting straps. Sway bars lessen the suspension's articulation but provide stability. They both have very different applications. That being said, the VP limiting straps sure look great. Awesome scale detail.

I think I was off on my wraith size of 3-1/4. Your measurement sounds like the ones they spec as wraith on their site. They do just have one size for each scx10 and wraith. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk |
