I wonder why they extend the front output so far? I can just see that thin output hanging way out there ending up getting bent/snapped.

It doesn't look much longer than any other aftermarket extended output shaft but it does look thin. You could run revo summit shafts and have a huge range of gearing. Put revo shafts on a ax2 rc4wd 2spd or a stock axial transmission and you won't even be able to run a 4:1 ratio.

With the exception of that long tranny output, looks like a copy of the rc4wd trans to me.

Doesnt give the high / low gear ratio's either.. Just that they are 15% taller / shorter than stock. Might make it difficult to pre-tune your rig without having one to test with.

I have not had a 2 speed in an electric rc but with the current battery and motor technology I really don't see the need. I don't need to go any faster or slower than I can go with my 4300 on 3s. IMHO, its an unneeded added complexity. KISS

To me, having a 2 speed is about playing in ranges. 1st gear for the slow stuff...2nd gear for in between obstacles. Its more about having a choice. Its not like you will get a 2 speed and just keep it in one gear. Also, a 2 speed transmission is far from "complex". I would pay ~200 for a 3 speed. |

They sure are proud of that one... $48 more than the rc4wd unit. No thanks |

The difference between 1st and 2nd in this unit is not enough. HR 2 Speed ratio estimates according to the description: 1st 3.0:1 2nd 2.2:1 Stock Axial tranny 2.6:1 RC4WD AX2 2 speed: 1st Gear Ratio = 5.05:1 2nd Gear Ratio = 1.78:1 |

Personally, I find anything from HR a crap shoot at best. They have zero QC and zero customer service. I doubt I'd buy anything from them again unless i had the part in my hand to confirm it's not one that should have been in the scrap bin I also agree there's not enough gear spread |

Like 67stang said I absolutely love my RC 4wd. 2 SPd and would have them in all my trucks. It allows me to run fast brushless while still being able to go relatively slow well. With these ranges on the hr one I would agree it's not worth it.
