Default Which springs for Gmade xd piggys

Hey all, building my crawler/basher Wraith PS and got some clean used gmade 103mm xd piggys but they have strange mismatched springs. From a re really long and rears are almost too short.

I have a droop kit on my wraith and care mostly about trail cruises amd crawling.

What spring are recommended for this?

Soft gmade 58mm springs or ???

Thanks for any suggestions. Pics a plus

Jon

For the 103mm you want the 19x68mm.

I know that, but which? Soft, med, hard?

That depends on a few different things, if your rig is stock try the soft ones. The reason I posted a reply was you had mentioned the 58mm and I wanted to point out the 103mm shocks are 68mm springs. I have been trying to figure out in the last few days which springs come with the shocks, no luck. Mine do not seem to have a color marked on them like the ones on RPP's site, but I would assume they come with mediums based on what I have read so far. I was just going to order the soft springs and try them out.

You don't necessarily have to use gmade springs either, here is a post on rcshortcourse of some folks trying different springs.

Ok, right. I checked their site this morning and figured out 68mm was what I needed.

I ended up ordering softs and a pair of medium to see what works for me.

Thanks for the Link, seems some other springs will fit if I'm unhappy with the glades after playing with them.

Thanks for your time

I'm using Proline rear slash shock springs on my 103mm g-made piggybacks. They work great and the soft set is softer then the g-made springs. I'm even using the slider that allows you to use the second tender spring. There are pictures posted in the g-made section. And yes, both brands of springs are marked so that you can keep the stiffness strait. Proline sells a spring assortment, soft, med, and hard.

Do you know where to get the slider without purchasing the entire rebuild kit? I like this option but purchasing two $11 rebuild kits for just the sliders makes it a tough buy.

Sorry, no. I had to buy the rebuild kit, cheapest on flee-bay, so you'd need two spring assortment sets and two rebuild kits for the sliders. I'm sure they would be easy to machine from delrin but I don't have access to a lathe. I even looked for a PVC or urethan tubing option with no luck. But buying the rebuild kit is a pain for just the two plastic parts.

I've also used T-maxx red and slash progressive springs. Depends on the setup you want. As stated above, the Proline powerstroke for slash rear springs fit. You either need the spacer to run the 2 stage, or just move the adjustment collar down and run the larger proline spring.
