On that bed liner paint, did you spray the top or bottom? and how well did it adhere to the lexan ? looks great

I sprayed right on top over the RTR interior, masked off the decals and scuffed it up a little with some scotchbrite first and cleaned it. Haven't had any issues with it adhering yet.

So the trail of parts has begun since bumping up to a 3s battery. After getting the drivetrain back together it only took another 5-10 minutes before stripping out the tranny gears. Ordered up a new set of gears.


My new driver approves of the rebuilt tranny....

Ok, so have an issue i am hoping to get some thoughts on. Took a camping trip up to Pismo Beach this last weekend and brought the rig up to run around on the camp fire wood pile. After running for a little while, maybe 25 mins or so the motor started stalling. Everything else ran fine but would lose forward/reverse motion. The slightest tap to engage the wheels would get it going again. Did this quite a few times. Just took it out in the backyard for about 20 mins and it is still doing the same, a slight push will get the thing moving again. Thinking maybe some sand got into the motor and just in need os some cleaning? Hoping that is all it is.

sounds like a stuck brush. try motor cleaner. Also might be a bad wind, a friend had the same thing happen to his motor. Sent it back to HH and came back good.

Thanks for the reply, that was going to be my first step. Planning to pick up some cleaner on my way home today, hopefully that's all it is.

I do not now find it, but you say MIP ( 11116 ) and MIP best.

Eventually I will go with the MIP(#11116), but for now the drivetrains are holding up with just inserting pieces of some parts trees I found that fit snug, no issues so far.

And yes, that is Arnie.. From the "Predator" series.

Nothing major but had a couple stock bearings start to come apart so ordered up some new ones. Also some other goodies showed up...

Just about got everything I need to start playing with some tube work. Hopefully will have some time in the next couple weeks, planning on starting with a front bumper since the stock is starting to crack at the upper mounting points. Post up any custom front bumpers, want to see some ideas. Thanks.

Started my first attempt at tubing and brazing today, 3/16" rod front bumper. Definitely will plan a little better from here on, tabs ended up a tad small and it's a tight fit getting the screws through. Still have more bracing to finish it up, but all in all i am happy with the first go at it...

Great build thus far, and interesting to see all the small changes the Wraith has gone through.
Will be keeping my eye on this build.

Thanks Charel, this has definitely been a fun rig to mess with. I have probably spent more time wrenching on it then driving it...haha. When braising, make sure to sand down the area real clean. My first try i only used sandpaper like when sweating coper pipe, it didn't take very well. Second try i used a sanding drum on my dremel and it held great.

Don't stress the wrenching part, that is half of the fun, I wrench during the week then play on weekends. I always find an excuse to do something on my rigs, even it its just to clean them just a little more or recheck all the fittings.

Any thoughts?
On my second set of brushes on the torque master 540. I don't run a whole lot but I noticed the second set seem to wear real quick. Just wondering if possibly the motor looks like it might be causing them to wear easter, it feels a little rough. Not sure how to post the pic on post, hopefully link works...
