Default Tra-Wrexo

With all the incredible, high quality builds in this forum, and with my addiction taking over again, I have developed the need for a IFS version of the Wraith. Nothing new I know, but but reading and observing some of the projects here, I felt I wanted to share mine. I had an issue, with king pins, just a personal thing, nothing against the stock Exo suspension, but Ii had seen a UK builder use the Traxxas Slash 4x4 front A arms and hubs and It looked pretty bullet proof. Hence "Tra-Wrexo". Also wanted to paint the next project so here It goes. Sure the yellow won't hold up well but for now it's a departure from black.

Axial Wraith, Tra-wrexo, Scx10/GMADE?Summit "blend"/Xray T2/Sakura Zero/Vaterra Kemora.

A little more progress, finished installing the LEDS front and rear, just got to finish up the switch and wiring. A little more tin work and the radiator. Mocked up the shock mounts to verify my suspension plans. [IMG][/IMG]

Getting closer....waiting for Hitman wheels, Pittbulls, driveshafts ESC and its test drive time! Debating on leaving the shocks in the "Exo" position or spread them out for better crawling approach. Any advice??

Integy Slash 4x4 units. P/N is T8528, I had to clearance the a-arm slightly so as to gain steering clearance just behind the hub/carrier unit, back side of the a-arm. I also had to lock the diff via a section of round steel so I could use the Integy outdrives. So now the front diff is locked. Hope this helps. Here is a current pic from yesterday.

Here are a few....I have yet to power up the servo and adjust toe, camber and caster. You can see a small dished out area where I removed enough material so the CV joint would clear.

I wanted to add a quick update since posting the last set of photos, it seems that the left side dogbone was barley inserted into the outdrive cup. I had a couple of options, since I made the "locker shaft" it seems I should have added 4 to 5mm more overall width to the assembly. Since I was heading out of town for the week I needed to address this before I left or it would drive me nuts till I returned. I relocated the hub carrier lower pivot shaft (outer) inboard 5mm. Removed a little material from the a-arm and it seems to work perfectly. I may still opt for a re-do of the locker shaft but I wanted to see how all these parts work before I tear it all down again. If anyone needs a photo I can send them when I get back Friday evening.

Finally, getting close. almost wired up, waiting on driveshafts. Tweak the suspension and relocate the sway bar link attachment points. Getting geeked! needs a test drive!!
