Hobbypartz carries Solar servos. They are cheap (like $12), but very heavy duty. The one that you want is the D772 and then adjust your BEC to 7.0v and it will be as powerful as an $80 Savox/Hitec servo. Hobbypartz also carries Sky Lipo, which is an "off" brand to Gens Ace. They are out of stock on a lot of their inventory, but keep an eye on it. It changes almost daily. Hobbyking is a great alternative, but their shipping is very slow and is above average cost |

Check out Savöx servos. Yes I paid $70 for my 1231SG, but you can't touch 444 ounce inches for that price from thevbig names!

I totally vouch for the Solar D772 for a heavier rig or the D771 for much of anything else. I run the D771 in my Wraith and it pushes it fairly well. Weighted tires and it still works. D772 is a brute that I mostly use for servo winches. Hobbypartz.com sells them. Also might want to check out their line on Sky lipos |

I've had a solar d772 for almost a year now and it's doing good. I ran it at 7.4v for a while.. and have recently bumped it up to 8v after reading about some other users dping the same... running it at 8v REALLY woke it up !!! And it hasn't run hot at all or given any problems...

I've beat the snot out of this servo and never had a failure HXT 10kg Servo (metal gear) 55g / 10kg / .16sec (USA Warehouse) I've no complaints with hobby kings shipping from the us warehouse. I get most every order in 3 days and usually just 5 bucks for shipping Last edited by evan03; 04-13-2014 at 11:43 AM. |

Gforce lipos from valuehobbies.com are a great deal. I have a couple smaller ones for my crawlers, but many people running sc trucks have the larger lipos and really like them..and prices are grwat also !!

Won't have as much power. Gens ace batts have a metal shield to mask puffing and are over priced. I run turnigy 40c batts in helix planes and the crawler with great results |

I don't know the exact numbers, but with the Solar D772, at 6.0V, I think its output oz./in. is in the high 300s. When you adjust the BEC to say 7.4V, it would jump up to mid-high 400s. It's all about how you want the servo to perform.

| Re: Decent budget servo and lipo? Castle Creation's BEC is the only way to go; the average street price is about $20-25. If you wish to adjust the voltage output, you'll need to order a Castle Link with the CC BEC and install their software onto your Windows computer. |

I run -- Castle BEC's in all my rigs. Solar D772 for slow brute force (Great for servo winches) or Solar D771 for quicker, but still powerful. I push 8v to the servo's and they dont even get warm. I'm tempted to keep pushing it till one breaks, OR i max out the BEC!

You're right, for a cheap price, you can run those Solar servos on very high voltage. However, I think that there is an internal limit (gear ratio to motor size). I've been running my D772 at 7.6V and it is as powerful as Superman and the Hulk put together, but I think anything more than that is wasting energy.
