| Wraith Suspension help
Im trying to find a Set of shocks for my wraith. im still running the bone stock shocks and they have worked for the most part, but i would like to upgrade for something with better dampening and travel. I know alot of people use the proline power stroke slash 4x4 shocks but they are expensive and im not the richest kid on the block. second choice for me was the E-maxx shocks but im unsure if i will be able to find a set of springs soft enough for my truck. Any help would be appreciated.

Check out G-Made Zero shocks (103mm). They have a terrific construction and can be tuned very easily.

Gmade xd or piggyback shocks...not bad for the money! Traxxas shocks(like big bores) accept many different spring setups. For the wraith I use power strokes(faster) & big bores(more crawler)!!! Cheap shocks not worth spending the $$$! IMO... |

If your on a very small budget then try learning how to tune your stock shocks for better performance. dampening can improve or decrease based on the Weight of oil used. If the are too soft for you then try a higher weight oil. (will slow down movement giving better dampening) If they are too hard then try a lesser weight oil. (will speed up shock movement with less dampening) Last edited by 6sharky9; 04-12-2014 at 04:36 PM. |

The springs have a very nice spring rate out of the bag, So I wouldn't worry about that unless your RC is 8+ lbs. If you wish to have different spring rates, they are a normal shock body diameter, so I'm sure you could find something that will work. As for the valve pistons, I'm sure that there are options that come in the bag on a parts tree. I will say, though, that the shock oil that they give you, is basically unfiltered vegetable oil (same viscosity). I would fill up the shocks with a higher quality shock oil to get the correct dampening you wish to have. | |

The gmade xd's or traxxas big bores are popular for a reason. Reliable and predictable for the most part. I have gotten others to work as well, but mostly hit or miss within manufacturers and even kits. Shock oil weight correlates to piston valving, within reason. A heavier weight with huge piston holes can be almost the same as thinner oil and smaller piston holes. |
