Default Wraith of the Barbarians

Hey guys wanted to share my other Wraith based Monster Trucks...

Been slowly working on this for a while now, finally got everything built up and ready to go!
CPE Barbarian chassis
Toro 9T brushless system
Savox 1258 servo
HPI shocks
Junfac Carbon Steel shafts
CPE sway bar kit
CPE TXT wheel adaptors
TXT wheels and Clod tires

After I got everything in I tore the whole chassis down, painted it black along with the TXT wheels (I used Easy off oven cleaner to strip the chrome).....Also got the CPE sway bars and wheel adaptors in

Next I took the lockers out of the axles and installed the diff gears.. Then I took the 48p spur out of the trans and installed a 54t Traxxas 32p spur and a 19t pinion for the motor, installed the Toro motor and sway bars to the chassis. Then the axles and the rebuilt shocks back on the chassis

Wheels and tires installed and electronics tucked away in the chassis...

Took the Barbarian to the track and ran it after the race....Shocks are too stiff, I knew that was gonna be an issues, I have a softer set of springs I ordered and I can re-tune them...Turns great, runs quiet and is pretty quick..Love the CPE sway bars, keeps the truck planted..

Barbarian #2..... Both running same setup except B1 is using Bretts adaptor and B2 is using stock TXT drive hub and small barrel nut....about 1/2" width difference....Cant wait for our next race!

Ok made sum changes to the Barbarians...

At the Round 3 racing during qualifying I broke my right rear wheel...It was something I was concerned about with Bretts adaptor setup...I had issues as well as others with the screw for the adaptor backing out...The screw is 6mm so I bought 8mm screws and with Loctite they worked...buuuuuuut even with a not so rough landing I broke my wheel around the screw...I was able to fix it and finish the race in 1st lol...But I decided to try something else...I took the threaded sleeve off and just used a barrel nut instead of the screw to hold the wheel on and it worked like a charm.....

Now my second truck is setup not using CPEs adaptors but only using a stock TXT drivehub and a small barrel nut....My first Barbarian will eventually be setup like this one....

Also after the Round 3 race I noticed my Toro ESC was acting up....It would not cut on and when it did it would glitch really bad and would not move.....Will G suggested I open the receiver and ESC cases and check the wires...all the wires looked good and I blew any dust out (you guys know how dusty our track is)....after that it worked fine when I tested it at my house...When I went to Round 4 racing it wouldn't work again...so OUT goes the Toro and I stole the Castle SCT 3800 system from my SCT (racers take priority lol)... Kept the same gearing and the truck runs great...I can definitely tell it has more power, and runs smoother but the speed is almost the same as the Toro. We have our Finals race this weekend so Ill be able to see how it performs...and if it does Ill end up getting one for Barbarian #1

Great looking trucks! I am building a Barbarian Wraith myself, thanks for all the good info in your thread. I will be using a brushed motor in mine to keep costs low. But all the other info is great! What size barrel nuts are you using with your CPE adapters? I have some Junfac ones from a set of wheel wideners I have on hand. I was wondering if they will work.

Very nice build I was wondering what shocks you are running and what size? I have a clod/wraith and would really appreciate the advise.
