I installed the beef tubes into the VP axles today. Took a bit of grinding to get them to fit properly, but this was expected. Looking forward to seeing how my Wraith climbs with this extra weight (including the new wheels); it climbed incredibly well before these mods.... hopefully like a spider now! I also threw a pair into my son's AX10 Deadbolt front axle, that was a very straight forward installation.

Thanxs. I do like both versions too. I just can't leave well enough alone and I wanted to personalize my Wraith, so I decided to do the fastback mod.

Yeah, frontal weight is key for crawling with the wraith. I have some RC4WD steel rims with Underground Crawler weight-able spacers. My front wheels (with tyres) weigh like 4 or 5 pounds! :flipoff: My truck weights nearly 11 pounds! :lmao:

Well...... I bit the bullet and ordered up the MMP and Tekin ROC 412 3100kV. I also added the upgraded Axial motor plate, which I'm hoping will work fine with this motor. I will switch over to a 32p spur and pinion too. I wasn't going to order these parts for my Wraith because I am extremely happy with it's current performance and the Yeti will supplement my need for speed, but I just can't wait a month or so to get my pre-ordered Yeti!

I sure am looking forward to getting these parts in from RPP.

First post for me...I just got done with installing this same motor and esc....I am new to RC so setup was time consuming. I'd feel bad if I didn't mention this in hopes of saving you time and I apologize if you are more familiar with rc's than me and know what you're doing.

Using castle link make sure you select "crawler reverse"...drag brake set to 30% and I would leave throttle/break curve alone...use "sensored only" and use the sensor wire that comes with the motor. The motor doesn't come prewired...you will need to supply your own wire and bullet connectors( I used castle bullet connectors 4 mm)

Also I didn't see if you upgraded the gears in the axles to the heavy duty ones from axial...the ones for od/ud...if you haven't done so I would as the stock gears may not hold up with the motor.

I don't know if the axial motor plate will cause any issues...I rebuilt my trans using the hot racing aluminum housing and their light weight steel gears. I bought that single plate and spur combo from supershafty...I too am using 32p 56t spur with a 11t pinion gear...good punch and lots of torque!

Again I apologize if you know this already...I'm a noob and spent a lot of time figuring out how to set up this motor and esc.

Thank you very much for words of wisdom btango05, I appreciate it. I wasn't sure if the motor came with the wires or not and now I know; I will pick some up at my LHS.

I'm using the stock axle gears. I've read they do pretty good. If not, I will simply upgrade them to the HD versions. The trans is already upgraded, so hopefully I should be good.

I keep hearing once you go brushless, you'll never go back.....and I'm very much looking forward to NOT looking back!

Went for an awesome 5 hour crawl today up Mount Doug with a bunch of guys and their various rigs. I absolutely love how my Wraith is performing right now. The new Beef Tubes and heavier GearHead aluminum wheels made my machine crawl like their was no tomorrow...It was mesmerizing to see it crawl near vertical rocky terrain.

I crawled the crap outta my Wraith today and the only incident was driver induced...took a jump and landed in a way that bent my servo horn. A quick bend back straight with pliers and I was good to go.

The Wraith is all stripped down and cleaned up..... ready for the motor and electronics transplant. I hope the package of parts arrives this week.

Those of you running the MMP, are you using a BEC for the aftermarket servo? I have been powering my Hitec 7955 with a CC BEC @ 6.0 volts with the stock ESC. I thought I read the MMP has the capability of providing 6.0 volts to the servo if I remember correctly.

The good stuff has arrived....I must say, I love how quick RPP gets their orders out the door. Less than a week and it's already in my hands up in Canada.

The shocks and shackles are for my SCX10 F250 Truggy build, the King shock springs are for my AX10 Deadbolt and the rest is for my true love....the Wraith!!!

The MMP, ROC 412 3100kV and Specktrum SRS 4210 receiver went fairly well, although I was up until the wee hours of the morning because I took my time. Initial impressions from within my shop is that my Wraith has a boatload of new found power.

There is one issue I encountered though. When I turn the transmitter off before the MMP, the machine will rocket to full acceleration. I found this out the hard way because everything on my shop bench was wiped out when the Wraith bolted all of a sudden! It was like an Audi from the 80's (for the older folks, this will be funny). Anyhow, I went through all of the settings in the MMP and receiver and couldn't figure it out. I know the simple solution is not to turn off the transmitter before I power down the MMP...but sometimes shit happens and I don't want my Wraith accidentally going out of control, such as being out of range or if someone else may inadvertently turn the transmitter off. Any assistance with this will be truly appreciated.

I figured it out, I had to rebind the radio and receiver and re-calibrate. It's all good now....no more unintended acceleration issues!

Now to get this machine all put back together and do some testing. I changed over to 32p gearing. My baseline will be 56 / 12 and I'll see how that goes.

After a quick rip on the street, all I can say is this Wraith is incredible. The rubber literally spins on old rough asphalt. In a scale scenario, the power is simply violent with this new setup. Although all the drive train has been beefed up, it just feels like something has to give.....I wonder what part will be first that self destructs?

I'm hoping to get out and get this machine tested in a day of crawling soon.

This Wraith has been getting mods for the last two years now and I would like to think that I'm pretty much done now. I'm sure the Yeti is going to go thru this modification madness as well.
