Well i have wanted something to run with the guys in our local group ( KCRC) when they are running there wraiths ........but i didn't want the same thing as everybody else , so began the search for an idea .
I finally found what i was looking for in a friends ( winnerone23) build thread (why not ..... for sale section build ) , so i began looking at his thread and planning my build . Well here is the culmination of my work so far .......

parts gathered so far
wraith axles

set of custom chassis rails from The DMG (thanks jerry )
set of front bumper braces from The DMG ( thanks jerry )
wraith shocks
exo panels ( thanks winnerone23 )
speed passions gt 2.0 esc
losi 17.5 sensored brushless motor
stock rtr ripsaws and wheels ( for now )

i waited till i had all of the above parts before i started to build my project , well i started on it today and made quite a bit of progress for one evenings work .......on to the pics

Very nice build! Def different. can't wait to see the progress

winnerone23 04-23-2014 08:28 AM

So you finally got to it... Huh..
Looks like a good start, glad to hear you have more bracing coming for the front end. It's a key function that is Needed! Well, maybe not so needed with a 17.5t running it.. :)

I'll be watching..

Re: Project Exorcist

well i had some time this evening after work to dig back into this project , i started with moving the rear shocks lower mount to the outside of the mount on the axle ( much better angle on the shock ) . then i finished the rear chassis bracing by taking the rear lower tie bar and bringing it up to the top of the chassis ( had to cut them shorter and then fishmouth the ends ) , then i tackled the body panels ( i had to modify the hood the most to clear the shock towers ) .

then i started in on the side panels ( a little trimming here and there was all that was needed ) , and no the green will not be staying as i am going to have freq-e-skins make me a special set of skins for exorcist . okay now on to the pics from today ....

What in the name of all that's holy?!? How did I miss that you were doing this. Seriously love this. Been trying to decide what to do with this old exoterra that I've got laying around here. Can't wait to see this out on the trail or running Ultra4 "thumbsup"

if you are talking about the front shock tower pieces , they are from a wraith lowering kit from level 3 rc ( they are the parts for the rear on a wraith )

Re: Project Exorcist

okay so it's been a minute or two since i updated the progress on exorcist , i finally got the DMG front bumper braces , as well as the original plastic bumper braces . then i had to get some time to work .....

so with that said i started working on it this evening for a little while , i painted the body panels a nice flat o.d. green for now . i began tackling the front end bracing , i wanted it as sturdy as i could get it without alot of one-off parts ( so i could replace anything that breaks easily ) .

i installed the DMG front braces just as they are made ( no mods ) , then i mounted the stock plastic braces backwards towards the cage and cut them to the length i needed . then i drilled some new holes and fishmouthed the ends of the tubes so they would fit good up against the cage tubes .

once i finished with the braces i looked at the original stock exo front upper brace ( figured out it would fit through the shock mounts ) so i put it through the upper shock mounts and bolted it to the cage . so now the hood attaches securely to the brace at 4 points , i still have to put all the electronics into it ...maybe tomorrow ......oh and i found the driver for it as well ( the undertaker ( figured he would be a good fit for this rig ) .

on to the pics
