The r40 compound BFG's (stock kit & rtr) work great for me in snow, mud ,dirt and grass. Crawling , not so good. Never had the r35's but I hear they are much more tacky and hook up good. Never run the treps. r35 compound ripsaws I would say are the better of the 3 you have listed. work great and crawl great. Have to agree with wurster though, Pit Bull rockbeastII is the way to go! Will be running some on my Poison spyder this weekend. Will let you know what I think over all.

Axials R35 compound is awesome all around. I have the bfg's on my main rig currently in place of the tsl's it usually runs and I'll say the tsl's aren't going back on anytime soon.

Another vote for the pitbull rb2s! Major difference over the bfgs on my rig.

1.M.T. baja claws-awesome tall tires all around, only bad is soft compound goes quick!=best tire imo
1.RB2's same as above but not since I mounted the claws!=always can use a set of Pit Bulls!
2.R35 Krawlers narrower not as tall as above but very good tire!!!=better on rocks than swampers.
3.swampers did just fine!(after I cut small lugs in center)=great trail tire!
4.R35 ripsaws if ya got em or get em cheap not a bad tire at all but if you buy...well up to you!!!

How do you tell what compound the tires are ?? my son has a set of the BFG's and not sure what they are, they are kinda stiff.

There is usually a "white dot" on the side wall if they are the axial r35 compound

On my R35 BFGs the white dot is on the inside of the tire.

Besides the white dot on R35s, if they came on a RTR they are R40s.

I just got some trepadors because I think the 1:1 tire is the baddest tire on the planet. I immediately saw a difference in both crawling and bashing I could not crawl obstacles that I was able to before with the rtr ripsaws they are pretty stiff new. Just beating around I noticed they hooked up a number of different surfaces where the ripsaws didn't as well. Havent run the treps very much so the verdict is still out they could perform well if the foams are trimmed and the tires get worn in a little? I'm currently saving up for pit bulls.

Im running Axial Ripsaws R35 compound. If the BFGs are anything like those you will love them.

i think it will depend on where you run, bit for the east coast, i find the treps to the the best all around tire i have seen so far. they hook up like a mofo on rocks and still have great traction on the dirt hills. the bfgs were about my least favorite, didnt have traction in the dirt and the rocks were only good if they were big clean slabs. the ripsaws are almost as good as the treps, i would say just about a tie really, but i think the treps sidehill a little better on the rocks.

there are other tires out there that people like, but those are the 3 you asked about.

right now i am running the stock foam that came in then. same with the crawlers and the ripsaws on my other wraith. i dont run high speed (27t on 3s is fast enough for what i do) so i dont need a stiff foam.
