| Moisture in Hitec 7954 vs Savox 1270...
Has anyone else had a problem with a little moisture getting into the Hitec HS-7954SH? I have a Wraith with a standard mount location, and was running through some very shallow water that must have splashed up on the servo. Well, after about 20 minutes of running (out of the water), the servo started glitching and has since been dead ever since. I replaced it with a Savox 1270TG, and on my first run happened to flip the entire Wraith into some water. I immediately pulled it from the water, pulled the battery and went home. I took the receiver out of the box, pulled all the servo cables and plugged the BEC in. Receiver had power, good. Next I tried the Servo (which WAS wet, but I dried it off), and it WORKED. I noticed on the spec sheet for the Savox that it is "water resistant" with 4 silicon seals. I would have thought that the Hitec would also include adequate seals to keep a little water out, but apparently not. I contacted support and they said that it's not water resistant at all, and the warranty wouldn't cover it. Oh well, my advice is to stick with the Savox 1270TG. |

I've had my 7954 completely submerged some times without problems.

Yea, I don't understand why mine got some water on it and stopped working. There was moisture inside the case, so the water did get in there, but I'm assuming the servo gaskets or something were not in place properly from the factory. I literally had the servo for a month. \ |

Conformal coating or plastidip at the least. Either way don't power it up again till its sat in a bag of rice over night. The rice is magic...

I have a Savox 1268SG (also listed as water-reistant w/ 4 silicon seals) and I have literally submarined it in water on more than one occasion. The only thing I do for maintenance is throw some grease on the gears every now and then. the 1270 is B E E F Y!

I've seen threads where the hitec was assembled wrong and you could clearly see the gasket was pinched but hitec still wouldn't warranty it because it got wet. Kind of shady if you ask me but it is what it is.

My those are my thoughts exactly. A little bit of water on the OUTSIDE of the servo shouldn't get inside the case.
