| Just ordered my Wraith Poison Spyder
I finally did. Tower came back in stock and with the member coupon it was $305 shipped. I went with an RTR this time cause I already have a backlog of unbuilt kits. I have a Maxstone 10 so it will be interesting to side-by-side them. M SCX10 kit is still in the box. See why I bought an RTR? I love the looks of the Poison Spyder and can always add lights later. I'm very gentle on my models, but want to know which upgrades should be done early. I am assuming this thing has ball bearings from the start. How about that steering servo? Is it the bushing one? That will have to be done right away if so. What's that size again on that bearing? Anything else I should look at? I hope to meet up with some local crawlers with this and not be embarrassed by my Maxstone, but I will still bring it along!

| Re: Just ordered my Wraith Poison Spyder Axial Racing - Axial’s AS-3 Servo Upgrade Just run it until you break something. However, couple mods should be done before powering it up are: Soldering on a Deans plug (if you plan to be running LiPos) and a steering kit from Vanquish Products or even a cheapy from STRC Last edited by Lentsnh2012; 05-16-2014 at 05:56 PM. |

With mine the servo was the first thing to go...on day 2. I would do the bearing mod or just replace it right away. Gear down with the stock motor or plan on changing it as well. Last edited by KBR97; 05-16-2014 at 06:51 PM. |

Get a Castle Creations BEC and Castle Link. That way you can go to 3S for additional Speed. Do this immediately after the Servo upgrade.

Servo bearing ordered. Actually, I already have this servo with the bearing mod done in my SCX10 kit, so I can use it and order the bearing later. Just hate spending $3 shipping on a $1 part.

Gear down to 16t on your pinion and just replace everything else as it breaks or you find a fancy part you like. I had good luck with my stock electronics lasting a month or so i ran mostly stock for a while with success. I would replace the tires asap though i ran them for like 5 months thinking they were ok until i got some rc4wd baja claws and its ridiculous how much better they are. I regret not doing it sooner haha
