| Battery Mod
Any Advice is welcomed as I am still very new to RC Crawling I just got my wraith yesterday and noticed straight away I should do the battery mod with the truck back heavy. I know most people use the smaller lipo's but for the moment (until more $$) I am stuck with a big lipo pack. I didnt want to move the receiver to the back either. I use some foam I got with my slash to raise the ESC aswell. I also wanted to keep the on/off switch for now The battery fits in really tightly and I also use Velcro on the bottom Here is what I come up with for now What do you guys think |

I took my receiver out of the receiver box (ditched the box) and I am able to mount the ESC and receiver where the receiver box comes stock. Only difference is the ESC is hidden under the hood. You can also hinge the hood to make battery changes easier.

2 things 1 done a good job of fitting that in there, looks like the same dirty great battery I use in my Wraith, 5800? great run time, well over an hour & a half. 2 it doesn't matter what everyone else thinks, if your happy thats all that counts. Personally I like the esc under the front & the receiver under the back but then I don't use the receiver box either, not planning on swimming any creeks with this. |

It's the 5000 battery which I think is the same size as the 5800. I am the same as in I don't plan to get it wet but I just thought if I could keep it in the box I would try. I am defiantly planning a Hood mod and then hopefully moving the ESC in the same spot as yours.

If you are new to the wraith...check out the driveshaft mod in the pic above! Saves you $62, not having to buy upgraded shafts right away.

If you do nothing else put a piece of 6mm rod/tube/dowel/off cut from the parts tree inside the male part of the dirve shaft. Then while the shaft is out, re-install it the other way round to stock, with the female part on the diff & the male part on the trans, stops rrocks beating the hell out of the splines & making the shafts bind. Was surprised the abuse those shafts take with only an ali tube inside them, those have since been changed to MIPs but are still hanging in under my 2.2 Sportsman rig, have changed 1 male part that had a full spline twist because it would bind but it hadn't collapsed.

Thanks for the tips Guys I'm off to work but I will have to look up a guide or something when I get home. I am pretty sure I know what to do but sometimes, unless I have step by step photo's I usually screw things up Cheers Paul |
