| King 110mm faux/reservoir oil setting!?
Hi guys, Im new to the forum but ive read a lot here and lets start by saying this site is awesome! Help alot to learn on how to build a good crawler and people seem to know what there talking about! I have a axial wraith and started to put couple upgrades recently. Ive ordered the King 110mm shock and after reading every single posts on here still a bit confuse on the oil thing. A lot of people using 2 different wt rate for front and back shock or some are using differential oil...? My question is can i make it simple and put all four corners the same wt ? Im using my wraith MOSTLY for crawling about 90% (thats why i choose king instead of gmade from posts on here) but still do a bit of hillclimb so what whould be the BEST OIL SET UP for my truck!? Thanks alot for the help! |

Yes, you can run the same oil in all 4. The Kings need thicker than normal oil to actually dampen the shocks. Most of the 1:10 scale shocks use a 30-45 wt or something along those lines (there is always personal preference and driving style differences) the kings need way higher just to begin dampening. I tried 100 wt for a while, but ended up with 1000 wt to get the dampening I was looking for. Good luck!

Ive Just read your post correclty and edit mine.. So i guest using 100wt on all 4 corners would be good for crawling and smooth dempering right? Or still to much..? What is your driving style ramination..?

How you tune your shock is in relation to how your driving style is and how heavy your RC is. You don't want a shock to be bouncy (this is under dampened) nor do you want the shock to lock up under normal cycling(too much fluid/this is over dampened). Try 30-50 wt oil for a stock Wraith. If it doesn't stay planted, then try a little bit thicker oil. |

mine weighs around 11-12lbs and 70 is too light my twin hammers is around 5-6lbs and 70 is borderline for it these shocks seem to need more than the other brands of shocks the th has 6 kings on it by the way 70 works bettr in th but not in my wraith
