Default Trail Finder 2 vs Axial Wraith

Which one would you buy if you were to only buy one.

2 very different platforms. What do you want? Do you want to comp? What power plant do you favor. With these answers we could give you a better suggestion.

I don't do comp right now. I am looking for something that will do good at crawling, trails and hill climbs. I heard mixed things about both so I want to be sure before I buy.

For trail bashing and crawling capabilities, I think the wraiths durability and suspension set up/ weight distribution performs better. The tf2 on the other hand will give you better scale shots and force you carefully pick your lines. Challenging but fun.

My $0.02, wraith kit!

Dad has very good questions, but he forgot one. What do the people you plan to run with use?

You'll find most run an SCX10 (similiar to the trail finder) with 1.9 wheels and etc for comps and the like. But the Wraith is a good all around rig. Each has it's perks and downfalls, and can be heavily modified to fit your need.

I have a wraith. I love it, and have sank tons of money into it customizing it into what I want. My next big purchase will be an SCX10 (of sorts) to build more to scale.

Scx10 honcho is a very capable truck as well. I would choose the wraith or scx10 before the TF2.
Just my opinion. Axial upgrades are easier to find and fab.

The scx10 would probably be a good compromise between a wraith and a tf2. I have a wraith and scx10 and love them both.

I've had a TF2, it was beautiful, but so much so I didn't want to tear it up, so I sold it. These days i've got a couple SCX10's and a wraith, all built up to my liking and for survivability where we crawl. If you like the scale appearance but want a rig you can beat on, consider the SCX10 with a hardshell Mojave body. It will get you much of the TF2 appearance but easy parts availability.

I have all three and for simplicity and fun its the wraith hands down. The tf2 is awesome but isn't as capable.

That is the entire point of the TF2. It would suck if it was easy to drive. I own 3 scx10s and a very expensive Wraith but my little TF2 is by far the most fun truck I've ever owned.

Simple answer is you need both. They are at opposite ends of the spectrum and you really appreciate them for what they are when you switch from one to the other.
