Default Largest 32p pinion?

Searched a bit. Didn't find any concrete info or the thread I thought that someone stated the largest pinion you can run with a 32p 56t gen 3 slipper/spur on the stock wraith motor plate is a 12t. I am currently running a 9t and would like more wheel speed. If it's not clear my question is what's the largest pinion I can run.

See Harley's sticky on wraith motor and gearing in this section. That will give you an idea.

I just googled "14t pinion wraith" and it lead me back to Harley's thread.

You should check out that thread for sure. But to answer your question a little more directly, I am using a 540 size can (HH 27t Sport) a 56tooth spur and a 14tooth pinion and I can probably squeeze another 2-3 teeth up in my pinion.
That being said, I am a strong advocate of Volt UP Gear DOWN. Do yourself a favor and go buy a 3s battery!

I'm no expert on this by any means but lets say i ran a 12 tooth on 3s. the motor is still turning at the same rpm as it did with a 9tooth just has more advantage on the spur making less turns of the rotor turn the spur more (in relation to 9t) so there should be no overheating issues right?? or i am totally wrong and need to be corrected.

No any increase in gearing COULD increase the heat. Yes theoretically with a bigger pinion you get more spur rotation per pinion rotation, but are increasing the load the motor sees due to the gear change. The motor can more easily spin your 56/9 ratio.

However, depending on the motor, it may actually like the extra load caused by the gearing change

What motor? If the motor your running isn't doing it for you, get a faster motor.

roc412 3100

might look into an ax2 herd the combo of a roc412 3s and that ax2 is stupid fast. would require getting a new TX tho ontop of the ax2 and a servo

thanks for the input everybody. think I'm going to buy a 12t and a 14t see where that gets me first

I have a Tekin Pro 4 3100KV BL motor and run a 32P 14T pinion. The spur is a Duratrax 32P 56T. It seems like it will be good since I also have a Tekin 13T Redline BL motor that I ran with this combo.
