just wanted to share a build with ya, I'm on a tight budget so bare with me. So far I've got the VP stage 1 kit, bearing clamps, link mount's and truss's. but the truss's came with the wrong hardware, no biggie, I like black screw's anyways. Also have the Fi spool's installed.

Tranny done, all stock for now, plan to tear this one up and go full metal later on.

Yep nice, there's been thousands of wraith build so its nothing new but thanks for sharing. Now hurry up and get her finished, I want to see it.lol just a suggestion, I would upgrade that transmission right away. The stock gears are plastic crap and suck when its brushless powered..just from experience.

I'd run the stock tranny till she's says it's time to upgrade. No since in not getting some run time out of the included parts.

my stock tranny lasted for awhile on my 4 pole brushless motor. 8 battery packs or so.

I need to run the trans as is for now, I just cant afford to do anything with it rite now but look forward to upgrading it later on "thumbsup"

Got some goodies in the mail today but really cant use any of it yet. I was going to use the suspension links in the kit but realized they used plastic balls. That's a nogo for me, so I'll have to make another order with VP ;-)

Well, a lack of work and a stack of bills has really slowed me down here, I have finished the axle's, hope to order the rest of the screws to finish the kit (replacing all self tappers) and maybe some small odds and ends this week. ;-)

You might be lucky & it doesn't, but on mine the drag link screw on the servo horn fouled the diff cover.
I had to flip the servo over & swap the drag link to the other knuckle.

If you are on a tight budget, you could have saved $100 by passing on the VP stage 1 kit. The trusses are also completely overkill. None of that is needed unless you just want a bulletproof rig that you can really beat on. You will also regret not replacing the tranny gears right away. The plastic gears will hold up for a while in a scx-10 but the Wraith will likely kill them in short order.

Hope you have fun with it. They are a blast to run.. :ror:

You can use metal balls in place of the plastic ones. Axial has metal balls as upgrade part, or you can use Traxxas ones.

In the end I hope to have a bulletproof rig "thumbsup" No regrets on the tranny, when it lets go and it will, I'll do it up proper !!

Thanks for the tips "thumbsup"but I'm just gona bite the bullet now and go with the VP's, I want them anyways :ror:

The suspension links is another place you could save a lot of money. I use Traxxas Revo pushrods and they are super strong and use the exact rod ends as the VP links. They are solid steel and very strong and are about $7 a pair.

Traxxas #5319. $14 for all 4 lower links... vs about what... $50 for VP? They are straight which I personally like better.. The uppers I use #5318 with jato rods on one end and bent in a vice to match factory uppers. $30 or so for entire suspension not counting 4 jato rod ends... It's your money, just giving you cheaper options that are every bit as durable. "thumbsup" My wraith has aluminum axles and big tires and I do a ton of crawling and these links have taken everything I've thrown at them.

I ordered a spring kit, I'm thinking soft in front and super soft in the rear with 40wt.

Does that sound like a good starting point ?

soft in the front and stiff in the rear is what you want. makes the front flex easier and fights torque twist in the rear.

Shock's are bleed and re-sprung, tire's are mounted and I'm starting the interior. Hubs and susp links ordered !!! gona have a roller here soon:)

This is coming along nicely. You will need steel gears in that tranny, I'm telling ya man just buy them and save yourself hassle in the future. Those bearing caps are not needed either, my wraith has been tekin brushless 10.5t running 3scfor 2 years and I've never broken a bearing cap. Although my transmission has solid steel gears...
