I've never been overly impressed with two and four pole brushless motors, except in the power and wheelspeed they can create without worry of brush wear. Sensored outrunners are close to creating the absolute control of a brushed setup, but nothing can beat a handwound brushed motor in feel when you need precision. Crawling and slow jog trailing? Brushed is overall cheaper and will offer a lot better control during inclined situations. |

If you do get brushless, choose a 4 pole if the budget allows. They do offer better control than two pole. By the same token, 14 and 10 pole outrunners like we are developing do an even better job.

Ok so the honest unbiased truth is that brushed motors have more torque and control ? Or not ? And john, is there any other way to order motors from hh, because my computer is blocking your website saying it has malicious content, wtf ?

send us an email to orders at holmeshobbies.com and we can process it for you. torque with control, brushed is the ticket. Power and long term wear, brushless has that. Torque is plenty from brushless but the control and low speed finesse isn't as refined. Again, except for sensored outrunners which are not quite to market. I practically run Revolver S motors in all my scale/trail rigs unless I'm testing or running in mud. Mud calls for inrunners with sealed cans. |

If you're trailing, get the 1800 gear it about 11/56 and run 3s. It'll have low speed grunt, plus some wheel speed

John knows more about motors then I'll ever know, I'm just tellnig you from persional expirence. Anyone who has never owned a top notch brushless system will preach brushed, and vise versa. Comming from someone thats owned both. I won't ever run anything but a tekin sensored motor, and a mambamax pro in and of my rigs.
