Default Slowpony's Terra Wraith

Finally getting around to doing a build thread for my Terra Wraith. I picked up a basket case wraith from the local classifieds a few months ago. The guy was asking a fair price for a use wraith, but during the test drive the left front knuckle fell off and I low-balled him. Turns out the c-hub was stripped and missing the bushing, the roll cage had some breaks, which was fine since I wanted to do an Exo Terra buggy. I did the IFS crawler years ago with less than mediocre success, so this one is going to remain solid axles.

Parts list
Motor – Traxxas 21t (their cheap and will easily handle 3s power when I get around to it)
ESC – Holmes BRXL
Tranny – RC4WD AX2 two speed transmission
Servo - Turnigy MG959 from HobbyKing. (This was a $30 servo with 30.0kg.cm Stall torque @ 6.0V. I didn’t know what to expect from such a cheap servo, but this thing is a brute!!)

Tires – Pro-line TSL 2.2
Wheels – Mayhem Monsters (Killer rims, bulletproof, good looks, and awesome customer service!!)
Front shocks – Pro-line rear Slash shocks with super soft springs (6063-01/-04)
Rear shocks – Aluminum Savage shocks with soft AX-10 springs and pro-line tender

Misc Parts
DUUUUUDE upper 4 Link Skid Risers. These are way nice and allow the use of strait upper links, not to mention more adjustability in your suspension.
Crawler Innovation’s high clearance delrin links, front and rear lower links.
Beef tubes in the front
VP knuckles and C-hubs

I wanted to mount the spare in the cage, so I cut sections out of the busted wraith cage and pieced them in.
I tied the exo cage in to the wraith chassis in as many places as was practical for rigidity. Left the front most mount attached to add an additional mount for the exo side panels in the front.
My first attempt at a fully airbrushed body.

Bear Lake in Northern Utah. We spend a week there every summer. One of my favorite places to go.
