So i've been looking for an upgrade to my wraith drive system, as of now I run a losi 12t esc and the stock 20 turn. The Velineon brushless system is quite appealing to me but I am also considering a MMP with a 21.5 redline GEN2. Any suggestions?

I would go with the 17.5 or even 13.5 redline. I'm running the 13.5 with a MMP on 3s and its awesome. I did see one with a vxl system tho. I was surprised at how well it worked. Top speed it had me by a mile but it suffered some in the low speed crawling. I have not seen one with a ROC 412 in person but from what I read you need some serious upgrades to handle it. My 13.5 redline was OK with stock gearing and MIP driveshafts. Never stripped any gears.

I'm running a mmp with a novak 13.5 on 3s and I like it so far

I would run either the 13.5 redline or the roc412 3100kv...i have both..along with a redline 17.5....dont go below the 13.5/3100kv with 2s or 3s.... the 17.5 just didnt have the torque of the 13.5 or the 3100kv roc412...

Yes with the roc you should upgrade to metal trans gears and mip driveshafts but if you dont get trigger happy...you can get by for awhile....

Out of your choices go with the mmp and g2 redline. Velineon in a wraith sucks. It will have almost 0 low speed control and will cog horribly being a sensorless. Best choice would be either mmp/roc412 or mmp/pro4 3300.

Whatever you do don't skimp on you motor/ESC. Take all of the money you are going to put into anything cosmetic or scale and put it into the above. You're better off with a plain bad ass performing rig than a lame shelf queen that keeps failing on you. And it will force you to become a better driver.

Wow, that's alot of feedback. Well, MMP and a tekin motor. I like speed, but I also like to do light crawling. I was looking at the Yeti but it's not a trail runner, so I just decided to upgrade. Anyways, what's a good tekin for speed and okay torque?

The Castle SCT and 3800 4 pole motor will NOT do well for crawling.

I would also recommend the Castle MMP! Best multi-use ESC. Will run brushless / brushed.

I've never ran Tekin, but the people I run with have Redlines. 2 Pole and cant keep up with me.

thats because the comparison is apples to oranges with your 4 pole brushless and redline 2 pole brushless....

compare your hobbyking to a roc412 3100kv and then it will be fair, I can guarantee my roc412 will more than keep up with your hobbyking "thumbsup" now I am not intending to sound mean or preachy 8)

You are correct apples to oranges. I was more thinking price point. The hobbywing is about the same price as the redline motor lineup. And IMO a much better motor.

I disagree I run the castle 3800 and mmp and I have had zero issues with it it has great speed and when you want to get over an obstacle it is easy just to throttle over it and if you get the mmp sct it is capable of using a a sensor motor as well but as far as speed the 3800 on 3s is just crazy fast and a traxxas system into opinion is just stupid I really hate traxxas

MMP/Tekin pro4 3300 15/56 underdrive (43?) diff gears. Check gearing and boost settings in my thread.

Stick to sensored setups to keep low speed crawlability
