| Stiffening up front end after bgr tower install
So as the title says, I installed a bgr front shock tower and love it, it's a beautiful piece! My only concern is how the front end isn't as rigid as it was with the stock towers. The front "hood area" of the stock plastic chassis move a little left and right and also up and down. It's not a lot but enough to make me think it will fatigue the plastic frame rails after a few runs, anyone have any ideas how to stiffen this sucker up?? Thanks!

The BGR comes with a brace on the "inside" of the towers, but not on the outside. I wish those two pieces would be included in the kit. You can also use a cut-down suspension link, but it won't fit into the frame hole unless its turned down on a lathe or similar device.

I drilled a hole in the top of the front end and screwed the front grill to the upper bumper supports

I ended up using a couple 6mm x 27mm internally threaded aluminum links that I found on RC4WD. I turned down one end on each link so it would fit inside the stock hole on the chassis. I think it turned out better than I thought it would! Sent from my modded TI-83 plus. |

Those shock hoops would look sweet on my rig! I am not sure if they would work now after my mods. Where did you get them? Last edited by THX_138; 12-22-2015 at 09:15 AM. |

That's looking GREAT!! You've definitely have given her that individual touch. My "Girl" is on a SEE-FOOD Diet!! I expect her to top out between 8 and 8.5lbs!! I don't Comp, and I want that impression of HEFT!! I'm still paying SOME attention to weight, just not being critical..... Which is best, because I am absolutely my own worst Critic!! So, do you still need a Spawn Interior Plate? I used the full, OG Wraith Interior, for the detail. You can have it! It's not trimmed, unpainted, and has all 3 Helmets. |
