Default New motor for Wraith

Hello,
I've been a lurker on this forum for awhile and have gotten a number of great ideas for my Wraith build. I'm switching out the stock brushed motor and putting in the Axial Vanguard brushless 3150. In mocking it up I noticed the motor is longer than stock and hits the back mount for the lower control arm. Would it be better to raise the motor/tranny set up with spacers or trim the mount. I'm mounting the ESC in the back and battery in front of the dash. I need the room between the interior and tranny for running wires. Anyone else go through this in installing a new motor? Suggestions are welcomed.
Thanks!!

Just FYI, the Axial Vanguard is a sensorless brushless motor, will have good speed and power but will not crawl good at low rpm.. just mentioning it incase you are not aware.

I'm still running the stock motor, so I can't help with the clearance issues part.

I have seen it done both ways.
On mine with a 550 sized motor I just clearanced the link mount a little to make room.
Still works perfect.

DMG makes a nice spacer that mounts under the transmission. It will give you enough clearance if you don't want to do any cutting

Get a Tekin RS Gen 2 and a Redline 10.5 sensored and brushless. $250 on Tower as a combo and if you use the coupon you get it for $215. And it fits fine no mods or extras needed.

Do u have steel tranny gears mip shafts and hd ring and pinion? I'd not do so. That motor it a power house and stuff won't last long. I run a tekin redline gen 2 with a mmp on 4s and way les torque but perfect all around system and I'm a 3200mah I get about an hour and a half of cool motor and esc of trail running

Yes, the steel gears are part of the build. Thanks for the info, I'll probably run the 4s as well. What gearing are you running and are you crawling or doing faster stuff?
