Default Need help with getting VP wheel hexes on my Wraith!

I'm trying to put a set of VP aluminum wheel hexes on my Wraith. The pin that goes through the axles is a very snug fit in the hexes, which is nice! But... I'm having issues with getting the hexes to fit down, over the pins and seat completely on.
I thought about trying to find a spacer that would slide over the threads of the axle, and threading a regular (non locking) nut down to try pressing them on.

Does anyone have a trick for getting the VP hexes on?

Thanks in advance for your help!!

Thats what I do, I just out the nut back on without the wheel and seat the hex, you can actually see it better with the wheel off, be sure not to over tighten it or you will stretch the axle and oval the pin hole on the axle, dont ask me how I know this... They will loosen up a bit over time where you should no longer need to do this.

I could be wrong about this but I think you're supposed to get shorter pins to fit the VP hexes
*edit* - scratch that. I think maybe it's the yeti that had 11mm pins rather then 10. Looks like the wraith should have 10. Just ignore me.

The VP hexes that I put on my SCX10 were a little snug, but I was able to get them on. I just pushed them on.

Ok, I'll try tightening the nut down to seat them and see how that goes!

Thanks for the input!!

Well... It turns out that you might be right! I tried using and old wheel nut and pressing the hex on, but no luck... After some measuring, and a quick look at the manual, they are 2.0 x 11mm pins! I have a Poison Spyder Wraith, not sure if the regular Wraith has 10mm pins. So, I ordered a set of 2.0 x 10mm pins (AX30163). The same pins that are used on the SCX10. Gonna give those a shot and see what happens...

They are a tight fit but they will work I use them , even so it
seems like removing 1mm would have been fairly simple.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong?? When I got the VP hex to seat down on the pin, there was still about 1/4 to 1/2 of the pin thickness showing. On my SCX10, I was able to seat the VP hexes down, completely covering the pin. That's why I figured it was a pin length issue. The SCX10 uses a 10mm pin.

You're right, I could have taken 1mm off the length with a Dremel, but trying to stay consistent with each pin and making sure they're burr free, for a few bucks I could get 6 new 10mm pins...

Try putting the wheel on and then tighten it down, without the set screw in place. I've done this using 10mm and 11mm pins on my Yeti with no issues. They're clamping hexes so they are expandable. I had to use this same method with either size pin.

I put the 10mm pins in the axles, completely removed the screw from the VP wheel hexes, and the VP hexes fit without any issues!
Not sure if it was the 10mm pins, or completely removing the screws from the hexes. Either way, got them on!!!
