Default making a wraith bigger?

So I have seen people put bigger tires on a wraith with the stock wheel base, and it looks funny. I am supposed to be getting a used wraith in the mail either today or tomorrow. I was thinking about trying to up the size. get bigger tires and extend the wheel base front and back maybe 1/2 inch each way. I would probably need to get a different motor, and beef everything up. anyone see this done before? I like the idea of a bigger crawler like 1/8 scale or bigger.

i exstended mine about 3/4" with suspension links. i also use traxxas tmax shafts and cut them to the lenght i need. i think a 1" about 1.5 is the max i exstend the overall wheelbase.

ground clearance will suffer the longer she is

thats where bigger tires come into play. I think my main goal is to get over bigger obstacles. an inch and a half would be about right, then maybe 1-2 inch bigger tires and maybe widen the stance a bit.

Tall tires on a wide offset give away they're height advantage to shorter tires on narrow offset.

Tall tires on a narrow offset have a huge height advantage.

I like the idea of scaling it up. I want to be able to conquer bigger obsticles. Longer wheel base means I can make it up taller ledges and same with bigger tires. Out where I'm from there are a lot of big obsticles.

Hahaha yeah I'm working on one of those. I have a ranger on 1 tons. But 1:1 is waaaaaay more expensive. I have more in my axles than most people have in their rc cars.

What did that cost you. I'm debating a 1/4 eliptical rear because I can't afford coil over s.

these are the bottom plate and top plate

bottom plate welded to the bottom of the shock

cut the top smaller bolt off and welded a larger bolt on for the hiem joint

the top plate on the bolt then the hiem gets tightened down locking the springs in place

sorry no picture of the hiem installed but you can imaging that.
