| Adding lights to the wrath...?
I am wanting to add a light bar and a couple led's to my wraith but am running a BEC which is plugged into channel 3...how would I wire up the new lights? Would splicing into the existing lights be a viable option?

Yes that would work. Also depending on what type of leds/lights you get, some can run straight off a small 3s lipo.

Probably not. You might overload the receiver. What Light bar do you want to add? Vanquish Rigid Industries Lights run off of 11.1V(3-cell Lipo). Gear Head RC Lights run off 5.0V to 6.0V As far as the Axial lights, I would get the night vision box. RPP has it for like $70. |

With a bec powering the rx I wouldn't think it would overload the rx. I had an scx with 2 lights on the bumper and 7 leds for rock lights running through my spektrum rx at the time, without any bec and an mmp. Never had an issue, not saying hw wouldn't, but I'd think the bec would prevent issues...?

I think it would be fine if wired right. I had a total of 16 LEDs running off a Rx that was plugged in direct with no bec. No problems with that, it was just a cc01 with a 55t brushed motor so it didn't draw much I guess

Currently on my Wraith I have a... plethora of lights you could say. Ive got two of the original 4 buckets in the front, plus the two in the rear which are still tied into the receiver. In addition to that, I have a 2" LED bar on my bumper, a 4" LED bar under the roof, and 4 more 5mm LEDs that im using for rock lights (two on each side). All of those I have pulling straight off my 7.4v 2-cell battery. I crafted a little electronics box, so I only have one set wires that I spliced off the actual battery connector, and everything else (The LED bars etc) feeds out of that box. At one point I had the 4 buckets and the 2" bar pulling from the receiver, and it severely reduced their effectiveness, even with the BEC installed. Since I made the box, everything is super bright and effective. |

I bought a little 3s (11.1v) 1000 mAh battery off eBay for $15 and have all of my lights running off that. Last edited by tom.reau.jr; 10-17-2014 at 06:17 PM. |
