Default Brushless and trans?

So i decided to go with a roc 412 3100kv and tekin rs gen2 for my wraith build. It will be here in a couple days so I figure i better get a jump on the drive line. I have seen a bunch of threads about the bomb proof tranny's but im not willing to throw $270 at it just yet. So I figured i should ask the folks that know!
So far I have RR steel idler gear and a steel diff locker and 32p gears. I was wondering what else is a MUST?

Also i know I need to upgrade the drive shaft's. I was wondering if the stock modded version would suffice (2 females 1 male). If not, what are some good options?

Thanks in advance

your trans setup should be fine, thats what I have in two of my wraiths with roc 412 3100kv motors... I did the modded drive shaft and it didnt last long...went to MIP drive shafts in both and not a problem since!

Stock slipper, stock upper shaft and gear, RR idler gear and one piece lower gear, 32p spur and pinion and MIPs.

My rear shaft has egged out the pin hole and it slams starting off. The trans gears are still going strong. Never even stripped a spur or pinion.

I should learn to keep my mouth shut

Maybe the 6mm outputs are the way to go?

eh bumer man.... if I were to go with 6mm outputs I see that they require 6mm ball ends/drive hubs for the MIP drive shafts. I have searched MIP's website and they offer 6mm drive cups for 3 different traxxas cars... does anyone know which ones I need?

SuperShafty says it's the 08137 end, "MIP Spline CVD™ Hub Short 6mm Bore, Traxxas E-Revo, T-Maxx 3.3 (1) #08137" No personal experience, yet.

I have this from super shafty and it is very nice, I also have the one piece RR lower gear and have had no issues on 3s with a roc412....

that being said, I think the HR one piece I just got will be as good or better that the RR one I have...

No it won't work/isn't needed, the RR slipper sandwiches the friction material directly between an alloy drive hub & the inside/back of the steel spur.

the steel spur gear on the RR slipper has not caused a single issue with my rigs, I currently run 2 of my 5 rigs with it and will convert the rest as time goes on....

The Robinson 1-piece bottom gear is sadly one of the worst options. The stock outputs are much stronger. The hot Racing steel gear set is the best choice, the using your choice of upgrades.
