| wraith steering question
Hey guys, I'm busy converting my wraith to a U4 type rig and have a question regarding the steering. I have added a Savox 1238SG servo running from a HW 3A-5A UBEC on 6v and stock steering "plastic" for now except for an alu servo horn. I'm using 2.2 Chisels on pro line wheels with the std weights in the front. The thing is, this servo is suppose to be an monster but it is not giving me full lock on the steering while stationary or during slow crawl, will upgrading to alu steering links make a difference or is the stickiness of the tyres and the weight of the rims and battery over the front just too much? Thank you for any feedback. |

Upgraded drag link & tie rod can't possibly hurt, but I doubt that's the main culprit. I'm not personally familiar with Savox servos but around here I've noticed they have a reputation for being power hungry & I'd hazard a guess at your bec not being able to supply the required juice, the 10A castle unit being the general go to piece here. Do the instructions of that particular servo say it can take more than 6V? If you can safely up the bec volts to the servo you can reduce it's current draw (amps) & the next might cope better. |
