the issue i see is the location of the servo link on the tierod...the tierod looks to be rotating as its turned right, therefore negating much of the turning force... you need to get steering links that both ends hook to the steering arm on the right knuckle... I used the VP cms mount along with the VP steering links... Last edited by allanon1965; 11-13-2014 at 11:51 PM. |

| Re: Pan hard steering link problem Since I am thinking about getting a pan hard too. Do you notice any difference in steering? Doesn't the different angle of the steering link results in more work for servo?

+1 The drag link and tie rod should be attached to the same spot on the knuckle. Sent from my modded TI-83 plus.

@Troublkitty: if it's flexing you may wanna look into a vp link. @Maru: if the front wheels get in a bind ie too much resistance the force applied will be absorbed through the suspension. for scale go cms for performance go servo on axle I run a cms with panhard on my rig because Iike the scale appearance. Your drag link from the servo is too short hence your servo arm is already off to the right (about 7 o'clock) when your wheels are straight. While the wheels are straight disconnect the drag link from the servo arm, take the servo arm off & try to get it back on where it's approximately square to the angle the tie rod is going to run at (probably about 5 o'clock) then lengthen your drag link out & you should have equal steering in each direction. |

4 links + panhard + drag link mounted to the tie rod + panhard mounted too close to the center of the axle = your setup is all sorts of screwed up. To fix it take off one of the upper links, build a panhard mount on the axle closer to the knuckle and at an angle equal to the drag link, which should also be mounted to the knuckle NOT to the tie rod. |

Yea VP makes nice steering parts. I've bent my tie rod a few times and straightened it back out but I drive fast and by braille. As for which link to remove either of the top links and you'll be fine. |

So after removing an upper link and switching my drag link to my left knuckle my rig was still screwy so I scrapped it. Thanks for all the help anyway y'all

Panhard and drag link should be to the same side. The right side seems to be the way most go.

| Re: Pan hard steering link problem Yeah I figured that out real fast lol. The problem is, is that I don't have a way to fabricate a custom link or any real way to measure it out and by lifting my servo my drag link wouldn't push to the right it just kinda flexed outward. It's all good you buy and you learn. Wasn't too bad of a loss. Got some more bolts and nuts for my quick fix collection
