I am checking into some things about becoming a vendor but no decision has been made yet.....

Today's mission (along with a to-do list a mile long) is to get the Yota back together and maybe hit some rock this weekend.....

I have always ran FXRs on my crawlers in the Radio Shack project boxes but this massive MMP and all the wires is a little harder to fit in a Yota. Still used a project box and mounted it to the trans. Everything has be dipped in Corrosion X for those times I need to submerge it.

It's not as clean of a wiring job as I am used to but gets the job done.

You need a bigger box.

Glad to see it's coming together quickly. The MMPs are much larger than the FXR but worth it for the power.

I may have the wraith back together this weekend. If so I'll try and get a hall pass to crawl a little.

Sweet. I am still waiting on some Dueces Wild foams to try and to get the DH fronts cut down to 1".

Have you narrowed the front on your cab? I've tried about the same setup on my ongoing project, but I'm seeing problems getting the wheels to clear the grille when turning. What size hubs are you running?

Yes the front has been narrowed. I am running .6 hubs so its pretty wide. I have reduced the amount of suspension travel that has helped and made the truck more predictable.

Pics form yesterday's progress are uploading now. Should have some up later this morning....

Thanks man.... Now if only I could fab a driver mod to keep me as consistent as the truck....

Finally got all the electronics mounted, battery plate, and the lights back on the chassis.

I cut down a stock battery mounting plate and drilled 2 holes in it so it mounts very low on the chassis. It bolts onto the cross member between the front shock hoops. I used some small rubber spacers to raise it up just enough to clear the servo at full compression....

Here is the view from under the chassis and I mounted my front winch controller on the bottom of it.

The MIP shafts are in and I used the Traxxas Maxx crosspins to hold them on the outputs as most people do.

I used the small Axial light buckets and mounted them just above the front and rear axles to serve as rock lights on night runs.

All electronics are back in and everything still works after submerging the rig into Colbey's Mudhole of Glory at the last Carolina Scale Crawlers TTC

As you can see, I kept everything mounted as low as possible for a better center of gravity and to fit it all under the partial Yota cab. More on the body and cage coming soon....

This thing is just a beast. You should name this rig "beast mode"

Love your build! I have a question I'm hoping to get some help with I want to go to an scx10 chassis however I would like to swap over my Wraith drive train and suspension will the the wraith links fit? (Mine are r2j ss links) Also my shocks are 110mm in length.

Great write-up and one hell of a build there Todd! I am very envious of how clean and detailed this rig is, it simply "Does Work..."

Just search wroncho builds jwill, that's what I've been doing. Their are many ways to put wraith axles on an scx10 chassis. Some require custom bent upper links to clear the drive shaft and others use a plate like Todd did. You can also use the wraith skid but requires some trimming of the plate. Plenty of builds out their for the info

Yeah I am sure they would. That's a lot of travel in the shocks. I actually swapped to the Big Bores recently and reduced the flex. Seems to be way more predictable and easier to drive.

Thanks Robert.... I am hoping to get some more wrench time on it this week and add some more detail to it.

Here are some details on the body and how it got to this point....

I picked up this rig at a local hobby shop. It was an SCX frame with a cut down Exo cage.

I played with it for awhile but just wasn't happy with any of it so the idea popped in my head to stick my Wraith axles under my Yota body on the chassis and sell the cage. And so the voyage began....

Then as I sat in "The Lab" one night talking to Badwagon the thought crossed my mind and wondered if the Exo cage would fit in the Yota.... I ripped the roof of it and started playing with it and noticed with minimal trimming the cab would bolt right into the cage....

I then finished up some body work and painted it blue and the cage silver. Next was upgrading the interior panel and went with the HPI interior. Just had to make a filler plate from styrene to hold the interior panel and painted it black.

I actually chopped what was left of the roof up and used it for the top panel

More on the build to come in the next few days.....

Finally got the body back on and a few pics to show the "almost done" rig. Still need to get winch hooks installed, new foams, DHs cut down, and possibly make inner fender wells

When I mounted this body I ran screws thru the lower rear quarter panels into the rear of the chassis with a spacer to help keep the body together
( rear rock light was shorted out in this pic but fixed now)

Worked out quite well as it lets the body pivot for quick battery changes

Also used part of the rear exo cage to hold my spare and Trasharoo

Now for pics of the rig and lights

More to come as I upgrade it....
