The first of the month is getting closer and I will be wanting a upgrade.. I'm a bit turned off on the Axial U Joints. .
I run in mud/sand and cvd types just dont hold up well but I have little choice unless I spend out some coin for Dlux knuckles and Ofna joints but this seems to be what is best..

So what's the verdict now? I snapped a dog bone the other day on mine. Time for upgrade, but axial's doesn't seem to be an option now right?

Whats the best alternative?

I wanna beat on it more and its out till I get another

Have you tried the Vanquish VVD I have them in my wraith and I beat on the truck like 3-4 times a week and no problem at all on 3s.

I like the universals because they do better in mud and sand we have here. The vvd gets sloppy and squeaky from the sand and water.

And I know the universals are available, but I don't want to buy another dud batch it is got the same heat treat spot. I have two sets I have been beating on for going on 4 years now and two sets I purchased in the last year have broke after 2 trips out.

Where did you get them from? I'm worried most retailers have old stock.

When the one broke this weekend it took out the inner c-hub also. It's a terrible way to get taken out of a g6 because of a defective part.

That is terrible, especially since I bought mine to avoid broken inner C's lol. And I only had the money for knuckles, not knuckles and C's... Poo

They make their stuff in batches and they have become so popular that their stuff goes out of stock fast a few hobby shops on here carry their stuff. If you check their site every couple days the stuff you want usually goes in stock for a few hours to a few days then gone for a lil till next batch. Its pretty frustrating but they got good shit.

I live 15 mins from the beach and my son and i run our rigs in the sand at corona del mar 1-2 times a week. And they are doin good. I blow out the cvd with compressed air after the sand runs to help keep them clean.

Sand, mud, water. They are hell on MIP and wild boar shafts, I figure they would wear the vvds similarly.

salty wet sticky beach sand. Probably the worst thing for any kind of metal in my opinion. We bash these things in the sand and salty beach area all the time.

trust me I know I have all mip driveshafts and they make noises and are so rusted they are as brown as the dirt. But I thinks its cause vanquish polishes their vvd's and it helps keep things running smoother.

Good to know. When they get their parts back in stock I will place an order.

If your waiting to buy directly from vp its kinda hard cause they sell to so many shops now they buy up stock real fast. yesterday vp had the vvd's on their site today their gone but amian/ckrc/ebay/rpp all have them in stock.

I'll need to buy scx10 inners and wraith outers separate. Guess I'll have to see if any of the companies have the individual parts in stock

For what its worth, I have not broken one when I take them apart in a good while, where I used to break them at least 1x per week. I am hoping we have bought up all of the bad batch.

Every once in awhile I stumble across different issues. Nobody is perfect though, just take a good look at your parts before installing.

Are you more gentle now on them to keep them from breaking when you take them apart?

Are you buying direct from axial? Or another vendor?
