Default the madwraith

Hi

After bought a TIG, I had to use it
So let's go to reconvert my wraith KOH

technical parts are
Castle Creation SV3
BEC 10A 7.4V
Hitec 8285Th
gt3B hacked
6 Gtransition shocks
wraith gearbox, axles and skid

After a first drawing, too similar, I decided to keep this

I printed my drawing

And I turn on TIG

Rear suspension gets 4 shocks.
The red are mounted droop and black sprung. Like it, it's suspended, keep crossing axles but are strong in crushment and accepts new accelerations ;)

Now, it's time to put a new motor on it

and the choice is ????

a traxxas titan 550 12T
It is a lot too big to take place like that.
So, I milled with my CNC a block

I need to turn an alu ring to go back motor, because axle is too long to replace cover gears. Now, it's possible

I welded ESC support behind the cabin to refresh it

I need to buil tank to put BEC, receiver and wires under the ESC

The front suspension:

and the madwraith, ready to run (almost)

and the first test, in the garden

Thank you guys

No, it's not stainless steel. I brushed it like an insane

For painting, i like the green of wraith or orange with black bands on the sides
Today, I began body panels with sheet plate (just steel, in 0.5mm)

I made an air intake to give some 3D

and the future place of headlights

Look at this colors and tell me what you think about

Hi

There is some modifications.

First, links are are too light

So, I welded steel tubs ( 8*1mm ) with steel berg rod ends to the skid and fixed on axle ( with 7*7 steel bar )

A panhard bar takes place

roliing is top

Second point, like now, links are really strong, I have to protect axle.
I take a stainless 2mm sheet part with 6 mm round steel

integy winch takes place on the front, with his special support

But, at the last crawler competition, "la PACA", I broke it when I wanted follow a Mutt on rocks (but I followed ) So I never used it
A 3Racing winch takes place on rear

I changed air intake by a bigger

Another big changement: I replace titan motor by a brushless velineon 3500KV
It's amazing. I run at 37 mph in full gaz
With 4.5kg, it jump like a gazelle. Just on low speed, torque is a bit low.
So to remedy, I'll make a gearbox with the original ration and the second speed will be with 13T/87T to get 6.91 ratio.
I hope it will be enough

After a test run in "Sidobre" with some friends, I was so happy that I wanted to show it to my wife.
And in the street, I met a wall

a G-transition part

I changed them by 2 berg 130 mm shocks, with full compressed spring, fixed on axle front, on supports links screws.
Axle doesn't support treatment and left beef toob get out of axle. Therefore, the next step is to choose if I make a solid steel axle, like prontcho, or if I make some suspension arms and make a yéti like.
But I think I'll choose solid axle, because I like my links.
I could always make another with this system
And Bender meets a girl friend

A new face for the madwraith

A little lifting wich transform it in JK

And a new rear suspension, with 130mm shocks repositionned

It need stabilizer bar, but I think it will be good
Little reinforcing bars are added on side windows

I think I have to reinforce rear links with bigger screws supports.

I changed motor by a bruhsless velineon 3200Kv, it's really fun

Is there any advantage to having the stinger as part of the cage versus being more of an independent bumper attached to the frame ?

Very very cool. Looks like a great start for a Mad Max rig. Is that the inspiration for the name and build? Love the rust.

With damage like that, I'm thinking you should add a front skid to the lower part of that stinger for more support. Maybe a bumper too.. that damage looks pretty rough. With the angle of that stinger it'll likely go up whatever you hit next and take out your front axle instead.

Really like this build tho, looks awesome.

It depends your driving. If , when you see a wall, you blast on it, you should prefer independent bumper.

Front bumper is a necessity, but I haven't find "the" design

Thank you guys

Panels and roof are made
I recovered PC tower panels. It is impeccable: 0.2mm thick galvanized
I welded M3 nuts to support

Next step is rear body, fuel tank (to insert Rx and BEC), a spare wheel support.
And the next project is a real hydraulic cylinder system for steering
the pump is composed of 2 single effect cylinders and servo.
I thought about a gears pump with Esc, motor and distributor. Problem is motor is constantly rotating and consumes too energy :(
Work on progress

Great looking MadWraith, makes me want to upgrade my welding set-up and take the plunge on getting myself a Tig for here at home.
