HH $89.99 or Hitec 7950th $150 is best imo! Both have ti gears with tons of torque. Both stand behind there product! A good Budget(throw away/bash)servo at $23 Solar D772 metal gears & listed at 417oz 7.4v

The Savox has metal gears not titanium. I have owned couple 1230sg servos myself...no comparison to either listed above!!!

Hitec 7950 was my choice and i stand by it. It's a great servo and has destroyed two clamp on horns so far lol. Don't pay $150 for it though good lord I don't know where the last poster buys things. Right around $130 at RPP and can use $10 off coupon.

I couldn't keep 1230 front cases together. I switched the the 1283 (?) with an all metal case and problem solved.

The HH servo is stronger and cheaper, with a metal case. Had it been out when I needed one, I would have gone that way.

I'm going to try one of the $23.00 solar servos just to see what they are about. I'm not expecting it to be as precise as a $150.00 servo

I bought it 3yrs ago(still working like new)so ya know! & I purchased it out of town on the spot to run next event from "Hobbyclown"...no other choice!

The Solar D772 is a great servo for $23 running 2 now & still doin well!

A lesser servo can destroy clamp on horns because they don't hold well.

just remember that if you switch to the solar and are used to a hitec servo, you're going to need different spline count servo horns. needed to install one from my trail spares, but damn if i didn't have the correct arm to run it! 24t vs 23t

I've been through 3 solar D772's.... they last for a while but one of the press fit (gear inside of a gear) gets loose and just spins. So now i've got 3 sitting here worthless...I tried brazing them and soldering them back together. No luck.

I was running 2.2 bfg's on 2S w/BEC for all 3.

Is the Holmes Hobbies servo capable of 3S? It states 2S (8.4v max) on the site.

you're right, the bec will handle the voltage flow to the servo (I guess they're stating for worst case - no BEC scenario).

I thought the barn floor was gone.

Hobby king hxt10kg for 9 bucks running on 3s for budget servo. Turnigy also has some new track star labeled servos in the 300 Oz tourge range.

I run a savox 1268 bought it for 90 size helicopter it found a home on crawler. Love it and super tough.though I did split the case cart heeling done the street on 6s. 5 bucks replaced the case.
