Default Newbie bought wraith, could use advice.

I have been watching videos and reading about theses for a couple weeks now and I broke down and bought one that already has a few upgrades and I am looking for a little advice while I'm waiting on it to arrive.
I feel like a kid waiting on Santa. Lol
I'm going to post a copy af the for sale add and if you guys have any suggestions of what it needs fell free to tell me.
I don't know what gears are in the tranny and what battery to order so after you read the specs let me know what battery I need to buy for the most wheel speed and toque without burning anything up. And what gears to check for.
Do you think this is a descent setup or not? If not what should I look to buy.
I have a v8 1.1 buggy and plan to take this with me when I go riding.

Here's the for sale list and a picture. And thanks in advance.
Only used 1 time in the house it is in like new condition all parts have less than a battery pack run through them. Axial Wraith poison spyder edition rtr with remote.all upgrades listed below.

King rc4wd piggyback shocks
Castle BEC

That is a real good set up. I don't know what kind of deal you got but those are all nice upgrades. The only obvious thing I'd upgrade is the tires. I like the proline super swampers myself. And while your at it get some aluminum hubs for the stock beadlocks. For a battery you can run 3s since you have the bec already. A 5000 mah will fit and give you good runtime.

I ordered a couple of battery's last night and wasnt sure what to order so I got 2 different ones from hobby partsz after reading somewhere that Harley said they offer decent battery's.
Guess I should of ordered 5000 mah.

I wasn't real sure what the 40c vs 30c rating was.
How do you think these will do? Will they have good power and run times?

Those will both do good for your wraith, 4000 is still a lot of capacity. With the c count, bigger is better. But the higher c counts cost more. Yours are good baterries.

Wraith is suppose to be here friday.
I was thinking about ordering mip drive shafts for it And the front axle vvds up grade but figured I'd wait on the axles till it got here just in case it might already have them I can't tell in the pictures if it has the axial universals or not.
Does the stock drive shafts last very long or should I go ahead and get the MIPS on the way?

I'm no expert but from what I understand the power transfers from the battery to the electronics faster which is better for both the battery and electronics. Or something like that.
Anybody who knows what they're talking about, can you evaluate what I just said?

The mips are great, if you can go for it. I wouldn't bother with a slightly cheaper brand. Get the mips and you wont have to worry again, other than greasing them. But the stock ones are good too if you fill the male half with a metal sleeve of some sort. They will twist like licorice otherwise because the plastic is too thin.

Looks like one of the front stock wheels is rubbing the vanquis steering link?

Can someone tell me if this is what I need to fix this problem and is so which size?
RC Accessories - 2.2 Beadlock Wheels - SLW Hubs ( Axial ) - Vanquish Products

I'd like to keep it as close to stock width as possible without wheels rubbing.
Thanks
Bryan

Those 4000 mah batteries will be great and they will also fit nicely up under the hood.

I'm thinking about ordering some of the tsl sx or the mud slingers. Which ones do you guys think is more sticky? My LHS don't have a selection of crawler tire for me to look at.
Looks to me like they have 2 different size of the 2.2 tsl sx , it that is right? should I go with the bigger ones (xl) if I chose the tsl over the mud slingers.
I think the slingers and tsl look great in pictures but would like to get what gets the best traction.

I got my new batteries today!
They are 4.0 banana connector type
Should I cut them off and solider deans on them or buy a adapter from 4.0 banana to dean?

If you do cut them, be sure and complete one lead fully including solder and shrink wrap prior cutting the second lead to avoid a short.

First thing I always do when I get a new battery is cut off whatever came on it and solder on whatever type plug I'm running on the rig. You don't want to fool with adapters and the banana style plugs really don't handle the amp draws very well.

Swampers are great all around tire but the bead can be stubborn to mount on some beadlocks especially xl's. Pit bull rock beast, voodoo u4, mt baja claws are other great choices!
As mentioned invest in VP slw hubs for stock wheels
Move electronics around to put batt up front (requires hood mod)
Hot Racing trans gears
Mip's
The tire hitting link can be adjusted with stock remote (but other remore would be better)
With what it already has & these parts it will be a reliable rig til ya go the next step...
