Default Wraith trans advice please

I been getting all my parts ready to build the best truck I feel I can. Every time I look for a ss trans they are out of stock.
Can someone help me with a list of parts to build a solid trans or recommendations?
5mm or 6mm outputs?
I'm running a ROC 412 w/3s.
I have MIP driveshafts too.
Thanks in advance.

I'd probly do this with 50mm outputs.

I spent some money on my wraith trany by installing get Robinson gears and outputs. Wish I'd of known about this first.

Good luckhttp://www.hot-racing.com/index.cgi?partnumber=SCP38ST05;c=623

I run a ROC 412 3100 on 3s. Here's what I recommend: Fast Eddy bearings, RRP idler and bottom diff gear (the one that uses the stock outputs, not the one piece with outputs), hardened ring and pinion (I run OD front and stock rears), and lockers (lots of good options - I have Hot Racing). If you haven't already upgraded the links, knuckles, chubs and lockouts, now's the time to do that also (I run VP). That setup has been rock solid for me, and I don't baby mine. Good luck!

I've got about 1.5 years on Robinson gears and 5mm outputs. Running more power then most. Stock top shafts change bearings every once in a while.

Still running the plastic case after a few years, of runtime I think the metal case would be a worthwhile mod.

The hot raceing trany is a bargain even if you upgrade outputs later down the rd

Mint, I'll search hr tranny.
I was thinking 56/12 32p. Copying Harleys build?
I wasn't sure about overdrive front? I'm mostly trail driving?
Thanks.

Forgot one thing - 32p spur and pinion. When I first started out with a 48p RRP slipper/spur, I would run through pinions every 2-3 packs no matter what I tried with the pinion mesh. Switched to the 32p RRP spur (the Slash version, which may require shimming the input shaft to clear the spur cover) and haven't had to replace a pinion since. Once you dial it in, it will be a blast. Good luck!

Hot raceing trany comes, with a metal 32p spur.

I'd recommend 60 spur if your running 3000 kv or higher. With a 12-14 pinion

Trany comes with a 57 spur harley will be cool with that. Good chance of running hot with a higher kv low voltage motor.

If you use the RRP 56t slipper, a 9-11t pinion will put you in that 5-6x ratio range. I think I'm running 10/56 right now, and I don't have any heat issues. I did run into some heat issues with 12/56.

Doesn't matter imo, I would run plastic 32 pitch spur gear without slipper, spurs are cheap and easy to replace and good spot for a fuse, plus they usually run quieter than metal.

EDIT: I run this Duratrax 56T on my Wraith and Honcho:

Here's the 60T version:
http://www.amazon.com/Duratrax-Nitro.../dp/B000NW232I

I bought like eight of them all at same time so I have plenty of spares and they are cheap.

i would probly shoot for the 61 since all the higher kv motors run pretty warm. you may have to ditch the cover though.

or 57 with a 11 or 10 pinion but you may not be able to get smaller then 12.

i just like cool long running motors thats my prefrence.

youl have to tuner to your tase and driving style. there is not a single person on this forumn that can tell you what itl do for sure. 58/14 may be good for me but you might burn your motor up with that combo.

tunning realy is the only way and spurs are fairly cheap. i run duratrax plastic spurs i have 58/14 with 1/8 scale 2100kv motor running coooool. id expect most any 3000kv motor to run notably warmer with the same gears.

good luck.

x2, larger pinions usually run smoother and mesh better (longer lasting gears) too.

I just got my hr trans in with 61t 32p. What does larger spur do for benefit or harm?
Im thinking I'll keep and machine a cover. But what is a decent pinion to start?
Thanks
