Default Need some help with drivetrain problem..video inside

Ok so I got my new motor, new ESC, and new spur and pinion all set up and this is what I get...

What could be going on here? I have very new metal gears in the transmission already. Truck was driving fine before I did motor and spur/pinion.

Is the set screw from the pinion hitting the spur? Is the motor hooked up right to the ESC? All cables hooked up? Is the ESC programmed for that type of motor?

Set screw is clear, the three motor wires are connected, and sensor wire connected. I calibrated the mamba max pro like it says on the manual.
The pinion is spinning the spur, but the output shafts on the trans won't spin, or they do sporadically.

something mechanical is not assembled correctly.

what does it do if you take the motor off and try to turn the trans spur by hand?

gear mesh looks tight and the pinion set screw looks loose, but the spur should still spin. Does the trany spin freely with motor removed ?

What about the pin that locates the top gear on the input shaft?

Did you lube the internal gears?

Does the motor spin freely when not connected to the spur?

Ok your second video eliminates the internal transmission problems.

Can we have video of the motor operating free of the transmission?

Why is the transmission clicking? Is there a DIG installed

No, stock transmission with metal gears inside.

Perhaps the spurgear pin that Evan03 mentioned snapped and is sometimes kinda spinning and sometimes not as in under load situations. Some of the stock pins are short and a little too hard steel, like my Honcho CVD pins that snapped, made my own out of a numbered drill bit, cut down the base shank and get couple pins out of one bit. Good numbered drill bits are only a buck or two each and very worth the peace of mind due to much higher quality steel and I cut them so that the slight extra length just barely fits in.

I dont like the clicking sound in your gearbox.

I have accidentally set my ESC to non sensored mode and had problems. But not like that. Also when I have accidentally reversed the red and bleck wires from the ESC to the motor.

Try the motor outside the transmission with out the sensor wire but leave the ESC in sensored mode it might be a bad sensor harness. I have had my share of problems with those.

Tim what do you think?

Here's a video of the motor spinning by itself. Every time you see the motor stop spinning I was ON the throttle.

Motor or ESC issue? Both are brand new. ESC is MMP out of the box today.
