| Running Lipo on the AE-5
Got a Spawn a week or so ago and been running it on NiMH batteries. I have several 3 cell lipos around the house for my helis and would like to set up the Wraith to use these. The AE-5 comes with a Tamyia connector, but my batteries are EC3. I was thinking of just fabricating a short converter cable but then I read somewhere that the Tamyia connectors aren't good for lipo as they are not a high current connector. Would some kind of conversion cable work or should I cut the Tamya off the ESC and solder on something like a EC3 or Deans? |

I would hack off the Tamiya connector and go with Dean's, but all my ESC's and battery packs including my old NiCd and NiMH are Dean's. Since your other packs are EC3, then you should go with the EC3 unless you want to change to Dean's.
