Default Strengthening Rear Shock Mounts After Moving Battery Up Front

Im almost done with my Wraith kit and like how putting the battery where the ESC was gives me lots of room in the back to put the ESC and LED receiver switch components I want to put.

However it looks like the battery tray adds strength to the rear shock mounts, but might not have room for a Radio Shack project box.

So my question is would it be safe to remove the battery tray and keep the rear end strong? or use the dremel and shave some plastic to fit the box and ESC?

Also seen some pictures of the Axial with a metal bar in between the rear shocks. Is there a part to buy or something you made?

I think it's just a 7x60mm post from Axial (part #AXA1429) that fit between the shock mounts with the battery box removed.

It's an Axial 7x55mm post (AXIA142 thats the part # for grey.

Depending on your esc/rx box etc arrangement it fits across the front also

That's a confirmed 7x55mm, part number AXA1428. I put the calipers across it instead of the cheap tape measure and the caliper hit 55mm. Tape measure in now in the trash.

That helps, but really need to tie into the lower part of the rear cage too. The lower chassis usually breaks the lower part right next to the screws where it bends down to join the skidplate.

Yeah, I saw that and I think I'll keep the battery tray there and trim a bit to fit a project box. The battery fits perfect after trimming the interior without needing the tray.
